Another puff piece in the NYT

Titled:  "I Never Bought Anything From QVC; I Can't Stop Watching It".  The subtitle:  "The playful pleasures of David Venable keep pulling me back in."  It was just a few weeks ago that the paper published a paean to Shawn K.  Assume the Q has a new PR firm and they seem to be earning their money.

Wow!  Fan-Boy Puffery indeed!

The gushing and praise is really over the top.

Big bonus for the Q marketing team!

Maybe that's why they don't have time to fix and keep fixed the forums.

Re: Another puff piece in the NYT

This and the Shawn K. article are essentially two versions of the same thing.

I had a high batting average as a publicist in the 80s and 90s, but I could NEVER NEVER get two similar articles into the NYT pipeline for the same client within a few years, much less within a few weeks.

Something has changed big time. What does the NYT gain by doing this?

Agree @PickyPicky3 ! I was a communications director in the museum field....I don't get it either.

To me it was clearly a paid for advertisement in The New York Times Sunday Magazine, not an "article" or "news report".

They need the money and this helped.

@Commoner Exec Mr Wilkes  I agree it appears that way. Does the longstanding practice of identifying advertorial content as paid advertising hold only for print and not electronic media?

Re: Another puff piece in the NYT

It's in the same genre as a paid for campaign ad.  "I'm David Venable and I approve this message."
