I am not a fan either. Her overused line “this would cost $300 in retail” without specifying the brand, quality, or store is disingenuous.

Her delivery in general is performative.

ITA with your post. I just find her annoying, especially find it tacky when she's standing next to a larger model and she's constantly saying  "I'm in the XXS and (insert model's name) is wearing the 2X.  It's like she's always emphasizing how tiny she is compared to everyone else.

I suspect that Amy has no idea the psychology behind being sensitive to weight and size issues. When she states about her size next to a woman Size 2X, she is an XXS, she has no idea that it might be offensive. Naturally thin people, who have never had size issues tend to not understand how insensitive that can sound.

Why are you assuming that the larger models are offended? They are fine with stating their size; it's part of their job. They are beautiful, as is Amy. Stating the size is just stating a fact, and it's done to help the customer. I have never detected any sort of attitude with Amy sharing her size. It sounds like you are the one assuming that being an XXS is better than being a 2X, and that everyone larger than Amy will or should feel shame or embarrassment. I don't think the models would be in that profession if they weren't comfortable with their appearance.

“…nevertheless, she persisted.”

It's not body shaming. It's just stating facts. That is part of the job.

Amy loves and is very happy with her size and the way she looks in clothes.

No doubt, showing clothes is part of her job, and she believes she looks as good as any model.

She believes she looks as good if not better than Shawn, Courtney and others, who also believe they look good and show off their figures.

Very few are "gifted" with slenderness, most have to work at it, and I think she does, too.

While I'm not a fan, and therefore I don't watch her very often, but I made it a point to stop and listen to her presentation a couple of days ago...

I did not notice any type of "speech impediment" at all. Smiley Happy

@LavernLuvsShoes it's slight and it's mainly when she says words that end in the "ld" sound.  For "called", it's "cod", etc.

@santorini @I feel if you don't watch Amy often maybe you wouldn't pick up on it .   I've been watching her since she started.  I did notice it right from the beginning though myself.

I like her and I especially like her designs of all of the QVC hosts that design. I don't care anything about speech problems.  I watch her when she''s on.  Never really look at the models.  I like animated hosts......LOL...I just realized I like so many hosts that many complain about.

I really like her.  I don't like too many hosts, but she's one of the few.

SHAME ON THIS QTALK FORUM!!!!!!!! Amy is or was one of my faves and I knew there was a post about her and her laugh that now cuz of this forum I can never UNsee or UNhear, SIIIIIIGH!! People, shame on you, as Amy was one of my faves, SIIIIIGH!! Now, listening to her tonight with Jane T her laugh was kind of getting on my nerves. I never once had a problem or shockingly ever noticed it.

However, then I remember this thread from a couple months ago with majority mentioning her laugh, hence me bumping here. Well, tonight it really hit me and YES It almost does sound forced and fake. I am sad to say and I blame this forum (LOL), as in the many yrs watching I never really took notice, but now I do I sadly don't think she is a fave of mine, anymore SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH.

UGH, that laugh tonight is going to give me trouble sleeping, LOL...Oh, to the most recent post that said, "helium voice", hmmm that would be that brutal Minnie Mouse helium sounding, Debbie Fediukov. I beg of Dyson to find a new rep now, as its been a decade with this rep
