@LizzieInSRQ  I know your pain.  2 years ago at 64 and 9 months I was also rif'ed after 14 years.  Completely blindsided.  At the end it was a blessing in disguise.  Something good coming your way...wishing you nothing but the best.

@BrandyTT2  love my Ollies for picking up items from stores that have closed or they have bought out the older inventory!

Sorry to hear this, especially at this time of the year. Hopefully, in the New Year, you will find something new.

@LizzieInSRQ

The company I worked for was closing down our SF office and moving to LA, I had a couple years to make plans unlike being blindsided, that is terrible.

No one worked from home then, I thought with a fellow antique dealer, hmm, let's try that little company down the road called eBay.  Brand new company.  Plus I was pregnant with my now 29yr old son and wanted to raise him at home.

29 years later still going strong.  If you do have a passion for something, consider making e-commerce like eBay a side job while working full time.

Jewelry is my passion and haven't stopped since.

@Kachina624 you are right!I need to file for Unemployment. I never have done that, I've been keeping busy with appointments, resume stuffand paralyzing shock lol. Im going to pencil that information Thursday after I google how to do that lol

@LizzieInSRQ  FYI, it is easy to file for unemployment. You go your state's website and follow the prompts to file. You do it online and it will take approximately 6 weeks. I would have done that as a priority.

I am sorry for your job loss. If you want healthcare, you can go to healthcare.gov to get coverage since you are under 65. I wish you well on your job hunting.

@LizzieInSRQ  -  I would also like to say that I am so sorry for your job.  Hopefully something will come available for you soon.  Maybe you can get a remote job too.  Hang in there and do keep us posted.

Re: Amy Oselkin

YES, I am very sorry to hear about the brutal timing and the job loss for Lizzie. The corporate world can be cold, cruel and harsh and that is so rotten in general and especially at the holiday time. Prayers to St. Anthony to you and that you find a new one quickly. As for the Amy Selkin note, YUCK!! I couldn't stand Amy and her stories during Clarks presentations.

I would take Jennifer Coffey any day of the week to do double whammy both QVC & HSN channels repping Harry, rather than Amy. How come these on air product reps or hosts NEVER to just GO AWAY from selling on air. Just makes them seem so disengenous.They remind me of SPAM in my email folder, always finding its way back in my inbox, LOL
