Sounds like a game of musical chairs....or SURVIVOR and poor Alex got voted off. I wonder if they knew from the start that there would be cuts?

I thought Alex was getting a little better-listening more and not always so loud.

Its kind of sad because I feel like with all the complaints, we may have voted her off.

I saw her in a tv video on youtube-My Carolina's and she seemed like a good fit there.

I hope she finds something she likes and does well.

@febe1

She may not have been your favorite but apparently some of us liked her.  But that's besides the point.  I have said it before, the Q spent a lot of money training her and they felt she was good enough to put on the air so it would seem, assuming they got complaints about her presentation, they could have talked to her instead of just abruptly firing her.  That's just my feelings about it.

@catchersmom

I could not have said it better and in fact I have made the same observation.  The Q spent a lof of time and money training her so the least they could have done was taken her aside and spoken with her, if in fact they had problems with her presentation.  I liked her.  I thought she was a breath of fresh air and every time I saw her (which was often because I have problems sleeping at night), I thought she worked well with the vendors.

I am sure QVC followed protocol, legal steps, provided advice and mentoring.  She was on probation and she didn't make the cut.  It's business.  We don't know what went on behind the scenes and maybe she just didn't enjoy the job.  I have my favorites and what little I saw of her, she wasn't one of them.  Too loud, too fast....however, if one of my favorites left, it wouldn't affect my life but I do miss Lisa Mason a bit.

Re: Alex Butler?

[ Edited ]

      Why are some of the viewers assuming that  QVC never spoke to Alex about her style of presentation???   I am sure that she was cautioned and even warned before her silent disappearance

      When I worked, I supervised many people.  And during that time, I had to "let" several of them go because of poor work performance.  I talked to them, mentored them, set up contracts for upward performance. etc. For the legal dept, I had to document every time I spoke to them.

      There are some employees just don't make it through the probation period -that is life!  As I stated before, I wish her well. But after watching her several times, she was on my do not watch list!

I loved that Alex told us behind the scenes was bad. A big reason LR left in 2014 she wanted profits from the GILI line, a huge salary and alot of demands. She quit when she didnt get them. Lisa should have been paid 10 million a year to be honest. Lisa has stated she hasnt watched or bought anything at QVC. QVC could grovel on their knees to Lisa amd she would never be interested..it would cost a fortune to get her back

@JONNYSBRO, you sure never miss an opportunity to mention LR's name in a thread do you? How do you know the reason LR left? Did she personally tell you?

I don't, if that is true.  I don't think anyone should publicly disparage a former employer.  It seems a little classless.

@corita I completely agree. Somehow I managed to make just the opposite point in my post than I was attempting to make. I am also in charge of hiring for my department, and will select talent based on the potential they bring to that role (among other things). If hired they are provided constructive feedback in the attempt to help them fit into the requirements of their new role.

I feel sure QVC would have done the same during that probationary period.
