I’m thrilled for her job repping Italian jewelry on a competing channel.
However, I find it a bit intriguing that she is once again spending her time shopping for, talking about, and promoting Italian jewelry with and from yet another competitor. Methinks something is in the works...

What competing channel would that be?

I thought she was working with Lisa Robertson at one point

Albany was on Evine last week repping Italian made gold and gold overlay jewelry, she did a very nice job.

I sometimes watch Evine, I wish I'd known. Thanks for the heads up.

I was not impressed with Albany's selling ability on Evine. I thought she was much more herself on QVC.

My Take:
What Albany knows about Jewelry can fit in a thimble. What she knows about Italian jewelry and Italy can fit on a gnat's eyelash.
Teaming up with Lisa to visit Italy, to go to the jewelry shows, and learn everything she can about the different factories and towns and who makes what, will be invaluable to her continued success at Evine.
It's a smart move on Albany's part.

Albany wasn't my favorite host but she was very engaging. I'm not sure why she's no longer at QVC but if she was let go IMO that was not a good move. Albany is a good host, she's attractive and full of energy. I think she's better than some of the new hosts. I hope she moves up and this turns out to be a great thing for her.
It seems to me like QVC is purging older hosts for younger ones in order to attract a certain demographic. I'm young and I only care about the selection and quality of the merchandise. No particular host will ever make me buy things I don't want or need for the sake of being presented by someone in their twenties or thirties. Younger people are not keen on paying S/H on every item and order regardless of the dollar amount.
Furthermore, we're used to shopping online where there is no host or personality so that is of little importance to us. I don't anticipate women my age watching QVC when I no longer do and when the company is not even on their radar. I'm a rare breed. QVC should focus on their base customers who ultimately support the company. I'm already doing most of my buying elsewhere and I don't anticipate coming back anytime soon.
If QVC ever got rid of Or Paz or the prices got ridiculous they would lose me for good. That's the only reason I still shop here for the most part.

@VaBelle35, certainly someone at Evine should responsible for her training and education? She and LR are now essentially competitors in Italian jewelry sales. This teaming up (so far) makes no sense, even if they are friends. Speaking of which, why did we never hear of them traveling together when they both worked at the same place if they are such great friends?
