@shoekitty. For some reason, I thought Antonella’s husband was an accountant. I could be totally wrong and/or mis-remembering what I heard. I am sure someone else knows. I am wondering how many months before Antonella lost her job that he lost his.

@shoekitty  -  I'm not sure what he did for a living prior to his heart attack.

Maybe someone reading this can answer.

Sorry, I don't have the answer. He had a linked in account which listed multiple jobs, some seemingly warehouse/manufacturing and some more corporate, just based on a Google search for the company. I think the company he worked for most recently provided cleaning/santization for food processing plants, but that doesn't help us to know what his position in the company was.

And I think someone asked when he'd lost his job, which Antonella did say was 6 months prior to her termination.

Re: ARTICLE RE ANTONELLA NESTER

Antonella is visiting Lisa Robertson. They both posted a short video on Facebook.

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.
For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

Re: ARTICLE RE ANTONELLA NESTER

My feelings toward Antonella have changed. I am sure they are friends, but I wonder if Antonella visits Lisa to increase her own profile and status. Thinking that Antonella is a bit of a user.

Re: ARTICLE RE ANTONELLA NESTER

I think after Antonella lost her job, they both decided they were going to retire on a boat, one way or the other.

I remember all those years, in her huge house, she hosted her very big family for so many holidays. But after her illness and telling of her hardship, she never talked of her family helping her out.

What happened to all of them?

Re: ARTICLE RE ANTONELLA NESTER

During Antonella's cancer treatment, her daughter rented an apartment in the area so that Antonella could stay with her on land. I don't remember what state this was in nor do I remember where she had her treatment.

On Kerstin's podcast, Antonella said that she stays with family for the month or so each year when she has her annual checkup testing. She didn't mention who or where.

I don't follow Antonella but will check in occasionally when her name comes up. The few times I have listened to her she seems careful not to sound like she has a lot of support (outside of her husband) or resources which I believe is her attempt to keep people sympathetic so that they will be more inclined to continue to buy jewelry from her and maybe contribute to her GoFund Me. I could be wrong but that's the feeling I always get.

She says she's coming up on 5 years cancer free. Hope her good health continues.

You're not the only one who feels this way. I see it a lot on various QVC forums. I've never understood why the former hosts can't seem to find other jobs after leaving QVC. Kerstin even mentioned in her interview with Antonella, that certain "higher-ups" used to hang it over their heads that no one else would ever hire them. It seems like the QVC curse.

Indeed, the hosts are TV personalities with a certain skillset, and yes, they are seen by millions of people, but they are still only minor celebrities at best. If the hosts were, in fact being told that they would never find another job, perhaps it's because it's mostly true. Very few have left QVC and moved on to bigger and better things; only one or two that I can think of, Katrina being one of them.  And some might even argue that Newsmax was a lateral move.

If Antonella was working as a lab tech before the Q hired her, why couldn't she have gone back to doing that? At least it was an honest living. She couldn't have kept her giant house and the luxurious lifestyle she had come to enjoy, but at least she would be earning the money on her own, rather than having to beg from strangers. I guess once you've worked in sales, you aren't so bothered about taking people's money.

So, I do think there is some truth to the statement that the former hosts are not easily hireable, especially if they want to continue making their lucrative QVC salary. The equivalent sales job out in the "real world" would be exceedingly hard. Long hours, pounding the pavement, lots of meetings, sleepless nights and stress. Nonetheless, at least it's more honorable than grifting.

Re: ARTICLE RE ANTONELLA NESTER

I have reservations QVC ever told anybody they would never find a job anywhere.
