A little venting - Processing Time

I know we all have stories of long processing times and I hope you will forgive me for airing my current grievance.

I KNOW that when buying certain items they are most likely coming from farther away than a warehouse probably on the east coast. I know this but still I get annoyed. It's all on me, I get that.

I bought my son a birthday present (a surprise new laptop). It's been in 'processing' now for 8 days. I knew that it wouldn't arrive before his birthday but I didn't think it would stay in 'process' for so long either.

I'm wondering now if these laptops are only put together as the orders come in somewhere over in Asia. I'm just disappointed is all.

Thanks for letting me vent and get my disappointedness out.

Hi @CaryH Computers do ship from the vendor and it does take additional time. I checked your order and the estimated delivery date is 8/22. It should show shipped once the vendor notifies QVC that it has shipped.

Re: A little venting - Processing Time

Yeah I can see all that on my order. This however is not the 1st laptop I've bought from QVC and I don't remember the 'processing' time being so long for any of those.

I don't like that part of the order has already shipped and will probably be delivered tomorrow thus ruining the surprise for my son, while the other part is still 'processing'.

I really wish we had our choice again of picking what shipping we want to pay for. I'm not a fan of the changes made in the past few years.

Re: A little venting - Processing Time

Depending on the laptop, the item may indeed ship from Asia.  This is not unique to QVC as this occurs even if you order directly from the manufacturer (we have to custom order our HP laptops due to some unique requirements my roommate must have in order to work from home).  Because of this, even if you were able to choose your shipper, you wuld still be waiting.

If people need to get an item in hand when they purchase it, then it is best to go to a big box retailer where the item is sitting in he store; otherwise, the only option is to wait.

QVC could have things packed and out the door in less than an hour, and people would complain that they didn't have time to cancel their orders.

If someone needs something tomorrow, then go to a brick and mortar store.

I placed an order for some Isaac pants (jeans) last SAturday during fall fashion day.  It's now Friday and the order is still "in process".  That is surprising, and if i did't want to try these so badly, I would have cancelled the order by now.

I guess I have to eat my words now.  My items that still show "in process" (I just checked the order status) were just delivered by UPS.  Oops -- something is not working right with QVC shipping!

BTW, I have tried to cancel said items the last couple of days since they were taking so long to ship, but kept getting the message they were "in the process of shipping".  Umm, they had already shipped! LOL

I agree. I think the processing time been a bit ridiculous. But I won't complain anymore, 3 days is nothing compared to 8.

I just need to vent again that's all. Please scroll by.

EDD is Monday. It's Friday and it still is in process. Ordered 3 Aug. I'm really getting frustrated now as it looks like it won't be delivered before we go on vacation next Wed.
