Months ago, I lost my incredibly loving, adorable, 'kitty at my constant side,' day & night, "Cuddles." (addressed in a heartfelt thread here, so Im still grieving; Probably will continue to miss her, grieve for her, forever. Even crying now, typing this! Losing her was like losing an important part of me!)

@JoyFilled Warrior Your info will help many, thank you. I was blessed to have 2 'soul' cats over the years, losing them about broke my spirit. . . one of them still may do so, I lost him 2 years ago. Perhaps that is why we have rescued so many over the years.

As for me, the only downside for love and devotion to an animal is the fact you usually outlive them. The pain is loss for me hits so hard.
But sometimes there is one special one. For me, it was a kitty rescued from a particularly bad situation.

Yes! Yes!! I hear you!
It's a quandary. While my lost kitties (& dogs) fill my heart, even after passing, my heart has a big hole in it, where they lived, real life!
Just cant be understandable!
But, oftentimes, we pet lovers, knowing we'll probably outlive our pets, oftentimes, some time later, oftentimes, we take in yet another one! And out heart seems to even grow BIGGER, holding both love for those past pets, and still more "heart room" for the newer/newest pets! it's remarkable!
This is perhaps what makes Pet Lovers soooo special to us!!
I bought what I call my 'Amzie Cuddles" from Amz who looks almost like my "Cuddles." And when my "Sweetie" cat here, a rescue, isnt looking, I kiss and love up my AmzieCuddles. Helps a little. altho cry all over again.
*hugs* to our Pet Lovers, of those pets lost, & those pets still living!
*BIG *HUGS*

Pam remember when we adopted KittyCream from Spca? The same day her owners brought her in on her 10th birthday, and my husband adopted her?
She had the beginning symptoms -OR HAD- been obvious to owners -that she had squamous cell carcinoma. She was in the hospital more than here. She died ( we released her) a few month later. 6 months if that. $6K but I wasn't sending her back there. She never suffered, but she had 1 6 hour struggle where she could not drink eat. We took her to our vet that evening immediately.

So, SO very, very kind of you, & hubby where you were able to usher "KittyCream" off with love!! That takes a BIG BIG HEART! And Im sure "KittyCream" felt this love!!

@NAES1, I surely remember that terrible time. You have such a huge heart, and no one could find anyone who loves animals more than you.
It is so hard when you fall in love with a little one who needs help, and in the end no one can help them.
