Re: What Is Your Dog's Name?

Ours become members of the "Dammit" family:  Danny Dammit, Sara Dammit etc.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

I realize that is supposed to be funny, but how sad for the dog.

Mine answers to, "what have you got in your mouth".  So far I've removed 2 dead birds but he got to keep the mouse.  I have my limits.

@GingerPeach    Why is that sad?  Dogs don't care what you call them as long as you call....and love them.

@Kachina624

It's sad because it shows the dog isn't getting any training or guidance.

If someone says words like that all the time, it's a problem.

If it's just occasionally, then probably not.

I know dogs don't care what they're called, but using words signifies something to the humans involved.
I used to believe it was OK, but I'm realizing it affects how I feel also.

Re: What Is Your Dog's Name?

@GingerPeach    My sister and I both have "J" names.  Mother frequently called me by her name and her by mine.  It just meant that mother was absent-minded and perhaps distracted.  We were getting more than enough training and guidance.

@Kachina624

I grew up with 5 brothers and sisters.

Mom would name each of us in turn, by age, until she reached the name of the one she needed to chew out for whatever reason.

I have heard this is not unusual!
