I could cry for you.  Losing a beloved pet is one of life's worst tragedies.  We have two German Shepherds and although I love all breeds, they are truly life's loyal compaions.  I wish you peace.

I have found that the purest and most unconditional love comes from our pets. Dogs give us so much and ask so little. I hope that soon you can get past this awful loss and all of your memories will be happy ones.

So,so sorry for your loss.My husband and I are facing the same decision with our dog that we've had for 12 years (different medical issues). It's a very hard decision to make, but when needed, you have to make the right, humane decision for your pet. We love our little dog to death and it's going to be very hard to let him you. Prayers for you.

@MASSMOM - I am so sorry. I missed your previous post. According to DH (a veterinarian) this is very common in German Shepherds. I know it is, because my childhood best friend, who was in my dad's life before he and my mom married, died from the same thing. 

I believe you will see him again. I have quoted the late Dr. Billy Graham many times here, but he was a dog lover who looked forward to reuniting with his beloved friend. He said God wants us to be happy in Heaven, and how can we be happy without our beloved pets? Your sweet boy left his pain knowing he was loved.
