Monday report:   Good evening, fellow Schmoosters.  A brief report tonight as my dear friend died from ALS last night and I've been asked to do his eulogy this coming Friday before several hundred people, so I'm busy at the keyboard writing something that will do this wonderful friend justice in front of his family and community.

I promise to stop back in tomorrow evening and comment on all of your posts -- so many in harm's way; so many valiantly working hard to help those in harm's way; and so many fighting their own and their beloved family members' health battles.

How I wish I had the formidable resilience of my Schmoo in times like these.  He taught me more about grace under pressure than anyone -- furry or not -- that I've ever known.  Prayers to you all, dear friends, as we try to keep calm and carry on:

Hi everyone. Sammycat I am so very sorry for the loss of your friend. I do however know that your Eulogy will be something quite wonderful and very heartwarming and your dear friend will be ever so proud of you.

beastie thank you so much for all you do for animals.The world sure needs more people like you in it.

Tissyanne thinking of you and your Mom and so glad you weren't in harms way with that storm.

nycgurl happy birthday and so glad you still have your Snuggles with you. We too are facing Irma,here in Ft Ld and i have to admit I have never been so scared. I remember what Cat 4 Andrew did to Miami. If it weren't for Cookie and our feral kitty Goldie I'd leave here.Praying everyone will be safe.

@Sammycat1 - I'm sorry to hear the news of your friend, but I've no doubt your eulogy will be perfect in every way. He was lucky to have you.

@beauty junkie - we live close by each other. I am just a little further north in Palm Beach County. I worked in Fort Lauderdale for years until we opened an office closer to home and I transferred. I am scared out of my wits of Irma. 

I'm praying for many miracles these days ... hoping they will be heard.

Hello Dear Friends, Oh my goodness our world is so crazy right now.

First  Sammie, I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear Friend.  What a fighter he was.

Nycgrl-I pray you and snuggles are safe from harms way.

We made it to  the relief sites in Houston and the devistation in person was even worse than what we are seeing on TV.  No words, it is something I will never forget.

Mom report.  The scans were not what we had prayed for.  The tumors in her stomach and torso are very large and causing many issues with her major organs.  Treatment will start as soon as we see the specialist on the 15th, we pray he will help guide us through what treatment will help and that she can tolerate.

My mind is racing to put too much in words, I am sorry.

Our hearts and prayers are with you on the loss of your special friend to ALS.  DH and I also lost a dear friend to ALS; he and DH were Boy Scout leaders together for many years.  We know how quickly the disease progresses and how devastating it is for the patient, family and friends.  Our sympathy is with you and his family. 

My prayers are also with you as you deliver a heartfelt eulogy.

@Sammycat1, please know that our Schmoo family will be with you in spirit as you deliver the eulogy for your friend that has passed away. I am saddened about this, but feel that he is now perfect in heaven. 

@Shop Till you Drop, I am very sad about the test results. Praying that the doctors caring for her are able to manage her condition. 

@nycgrl, keep enjoying your Snuggle bunny, and praying that the hurricane does not affect your area too much.

Hi everyone. Sammycat thinking of you,you're in my prayers.

Shop I am so sorry for the news on your Mom. Sill going to pray everyday for you both and hope they can keep her as comfortable and pain free as possible.

nycgrul I am so scared right now,Never been this scared. A Cat 5 is an act God.We will have no house left if this doesn't change its course or strength.

Tissyanne thanks for th prayers. We had an offer to stay in a big Hotel but no pets so there is no way I would ever leave Cookie or our little feral Goldie who will bring in.

You were asked to present the eulogy, that is quite an honor and a responsibility which I'm sure that you will write something that will do justice for your friend, as your posts/comments are always encouraging & you are an accomplished writer.

@beauty junkie - I'm not leaving either. I tried to get a flight out but I couldn't take Snuggles - so N/G. I would never leave him. I am scared out of my wits. His vet called in a prescription of Xanax for him because I am very worried how this will affect him. I am scared enough and I don't want him to stress and bring the virus and lymphoma to a place of no return. I am happy to say he was flying around the house last night - I haven't seen that in a very long time and this morning he was playing a little. I'll pick up his script tonight so we have it just in case. I also ordered him a new carrier since he trashed his last week with the nebulizer  He is one piece of work. I think the new vitamins I'm giving him (easing him into them slowly) may be helping him to feel better - he certainly is showing more energy. I have for the most part gone with holistic medication, along with steroids. 

To all the Schmoosters - please know that I pray for everyone of you who is going through a tough time. Just because we are facing Irma does not mean the rest of you aren't going through something else that is just as earth shattering.

Keep the faith everyone. I will keep checking back.
