Re: That Schmoo, he is one tough kitty fighter -- 2.0

Monday report:  I've been worried, like Beastielove, that we haven't heard from our friend, BrbfromTX.  I hope her health is OK and she's just preoccupied with family matters -- please keep her in your prayers that all is well on her front.

We're hoping to hear from ShopTillYouDrop about Joey the dog and his appointment.  Shop, we've got you in our prayers too.

Beauty Junkie, I think you and Schmoo are the ambassadors for "tough under health pressures."  I'm sorry to hear now that you've to liver issues.  I wish for you at least a week (of course, and much more!) of no pain and health challenges.

Speaking of Beauty Junkie, this time of year takes me back to when Schmoo faced a serious of dental challenges that almost took his life.  Both he and Beauty Junkie were going through dental traumas at the same time, and every day she checked in to see how he was doing -- and vice versa.

They both came through it -- and I'm hopeful that our tough lady from Florida can pull through her health issues again now.  She's got her feline counterpart/guardian angel watching over her from Heaven, after all.  Here he is tearing a catnip bag from end to end after recovery from his 3rd dental surgery.  He had about 5 teeth left, but the catnip back didn't know that:

Hi everyone. Sammycat I just love how you write. I so remember MrSchmoo and what he was going through and thats how I managed to deal with my dental woes.I owe him everything cause he helped me so much. Thanks so for the wellw ishes. I'll be ok eventually. Its both my liver and pancreas now but hopefully with medications and diet things will improve.I love seeing the picture of Schmoo on his blankie with his catnip bag. Just like him I'm hanging tough too.

I hope brb is ok,its been ages since she has posted. Everyoen here is always in my prayers and I so appreciate all of you.

I hope to hear that Frankie and Fay Wray feel better and glad your DH is doing a little better with his neck. Mr Schmoo is watching all of us and sending those memmerizing radar stares he used to do,saying buck up,you can get through this.

Re: That Schmoo, he is one tough kitty fighter -- 2.0

Hi Friends, BJ, I am continuing to lift you in prayer.  Sorry I have been gone a few days.  Mom had to go to the hospital her counts were way to low.  They are a bit more stable now and we will see if the second round of chemo will start again tomorrow.

Dr. Bob examined Joey very carefully and looked at all his lumps and bumps.  We put him on an anitbiotic because he does seem to have a case of dermatitis, which is easily treated. He said most of the growths are just the type common ones that poodles seem to get which is what Jake has as well.  All but one, and we are going to monitor on on his back hind leg.  That one appears to be similiar to the one that I had removed from his hip during the summer.  He measured the size of it and wants to check it again in two weeks to see how quickly it is growing.  If it doubles in size, we will remove it.  His bun level is a little low so his kidney function is off a little.  Joey to treat with some meds and gave him a little fluid bubble in his back for over the weekend.  He seems to be feeling pretty good overall.  Thank you for you prayers, I felt them all.  I am a bit low right now, so much has been happening, but I will be ok and carry on as our other great fighters in our dear group do everyday and  the Best of them, Mister Schmoo pushes me on.(hugs dear friends) I will let you know if Mom can start her chemo on Thursday.

Re: That Schmoo, he is one tough kitty fighter -- 2.0

Wednesday report:  ShopTillYouDrop, sorry to hear about your mother but glad that Joey's prognosis wasn't all bad...we'll keep praying for the entire family.

Beauty, the same goes for you ... we hope you can get some traction on better health.

I have some good news to report:   it looks like Fay Wray is starting to get ahead of the MRSA infection.  Her eyes and ears and still affected but she's sneezing and spraying mucus a lot less. We can't fix her collapsed lung, but beating MRSA will make her a new cat. Frankie, too, is coming along.  She's finally having more solid stools, but she is still scooting.  Her an*l glands are not blocked, so there's an allergy or inflammation culprit we have yet to isolate.

But we will go after it full steam ahead.  That's what Schmoosters do.  Here's Frankie, carrying on the Schmoo tradition of standing in the carpet fort and watching the front 40.  The first time she did this, I cried, aching to see my boy do what she was doing just one more time.  But now she follows in his paw-steps:

Wednesday Evening Greetings

As many of you know our beloved Beauty Junkie lives in Florida and Florida is due to get slammed by Hurricane Matthew at some point tomorrow. She,her DH, and their two precious kitties are only 50 miles or so inland from the eastern coastline.

I just spoke to her (via a phone call) about 20 minutes ago and she told me that she was really scared...especially if they loose power because she needs the A/C in order to be able to breathe without difficulty.

She also told me that if she isn't posting here tomorrow it's because they did loose power. I responded by telling her that I plan to call her several times throught the day just to make sure that they're all safe and sound..and that they still have power.

Therefore I'm asking all of you to please send tons of very special prayers to Beauty, her DH,their kitties, and to the thousands of other people and animals who are in Matthew's path and to pray that Matthew starts to head out to sea during the night...thereby lessening the devastation that he could cause otherwise.

Sammycat...

When I saw this photo of Frankie in my mind's eye I clearly saw the photo of Schmoo that you posted of him sitting by this same window and sitting in the exact same position....and totally understood why you cried.

Wishing everyone a peaceful night.

Re: That Schmoo, he is one tough kitty fighter -- 2.0

Thursday report:  Let's send good wishes and prayers out to our dear friend Beauty Junkie, her DH and their kitties as they hunker down from this monster hurricane -- and all Schmoosters and their families and friends who may be in harm's way.

@beastielove I hope you're able to connect with Beauty and let us know how she's faring -- please tell her we're praying for her.

I thought of her today as I saw some autumn leaves blow by the front windows (a strange sight when we still have to run the air conditioning).  She used to love how I'd tell about Schmoo tracking those leaves -- missiles, no doubt, in his eyes -- as they whipped past him.  He swatted at the screen trying to capture a few in his kitty snare.

He liked to have a firm grip on his environment:

Re: That Schmoo, he is one tough kitty fighter -- 2.0

Hi everyone. I want to thank all of you for the prayers and beastie you are so kind to ask eveyrone to pray for us. Today has been a very scary day but we have been spared the Cat 4 storm has passed us miraculously. We are going to have bad weather tonight and tomorrow, squalls but its truly a mircale that we didn't get slammed as it was predicted. It woudl have cause immense damage. We were lcuky this morning to be able to catch our feral kitty GOldie. My hubby scruffed her and brought her in and we made a whole little condo area for her on our patio which is very big and all screened ina nd a roof. She was scared and it was heart breaking but she still would come to us and let us pet and brush her. She is sleeping now and when the weather is ok we can ler her back out.

The wind is picking up now and some heavy rain but I turly believe we would have had major damage to our home had it hit as expected. The power of prayer is amazing and I feel very blessed.

Sammycat the picture of Frankie brought me to tears but happy tears.I also love seeing your little man at the window looking out as he so loved to do. I feel he is watching over us and helped us get Goldie cause theres no way we would have even been able to pick her up. Thank you MrSchmoo for watching over us.

Shop I am so sorry to read about your Mom and am praying so hard that she can rebound from this and start to feel stronger. I don't balme you one bit for feeling down,my word all you have to deal with. Praying that lump will not chagne and your Joey will be just fine.
