Since I am relatively new to this site (maybe you could say a newcomer to Schmooville?),  I'm still trying to remember who is who among the Schmoosters, whose pet belongs to whom, where they hail from, etc, etc.

In doing a quick sort of rundown, I realized I missed seeing the formerly frequent graphics of AnikaBrodie that I so much enjoyed.  I remember someone mentioning that she may have had a ?ear infection.  Also, I don't think we have heard from brbfromTX in a while (I know she had had some surgeries and hope things are going okay).  I also miss hearing from newtoallthis and wonder if Mr.Tibbs is alright.  Any updates on my fellow clanmates would be much appreciated.

I also wanted to thank all the members of this clan for being such a warm, caring and inviting group.  Now, let's see if I can get this right:  Sammy & DH & parents; Beauty & hubby; Tissy & her Sugarbear; Shop, her mom & the Double J boys (aw, lil' poodleheads); and Beastie & kittehs-->Tabitha, Samantha, Olivia, Henry & Jack.  You have made me (a tireless devotee and lover of kitties, doggies and critters), feel accepted and safe enough to become involved with a forum for the very first time.

You're very welcome!!!! Cat Happy

By the way, do you live in NJ? Only asking because of the NJ in your nic. I live in Rockland County, NY. It's the southern most county in NY and borders Bergen County, NJ...which is where I go to buy gas for my Jeep because the prices there are way lower than in NY!!!

~ In memory of Tova, our blue tabby persian.  Isn't she beautiful? ~

@DKNJ

I finished my ear infection antibiotics this week; very nasty infection I might add.  However, I still have the tinnitus which is very annoying.  My hearing is slowly returning (right ear).

Our annual Christmas Neighborhood Celebration will be held this evening.  The host and hostess were in the midst of a major facelift to their home interior in November/December so postponed the get-together until now.  We live in a great neighborhood in a small town in central PA and have a wonderful camaraderie with all our neighbors and friends.  What a blessing to be sure.

I'll try to post some new graphics more often.  Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy the blue tabby persian graphic.  Check out her copper eyes!

I have a tough report to share with you tonight.  The Kitty Sitter picked up Chubby's ashes.  She wore the gold "C" ring I gave her to do it, for strength, but when they brought him out to her, she burst into tears.  She told me tonight, "He's not here anymore, it's not a home."

And I told her that he is home, home at last.  The only true, loving home he ever knew -- he lived an entire, difficult life for the reward of coming home in the twilight of his life to a place that was safe, quiet, loving, full of laughter and bright.  A home that finally -- finally! -- recognized and celebrated him for the unique kitty that he was ... a home he yearned for and will never leave, because that home is in her heart:

Sammycat...

I know in my heart that what you said to Kitty Sitter brought her so much comfort and helped to ease some of the intense sense of pain and loss that she's dealing with right now.

Please let her know that all of us are going to be with her in spirit and love 24/7.

There's a nice story behind this graphic.  We cat sit (October to April) our neighbor's cat while they're in Florida.  Patches, a beautiful tortoiseshell cat, loves to lay in our bookcase so we've arranged a really comfy den for her pleasure.  She is really book smart.  Smiley Happy

Saturday report:  Happy Saturday evening, all!

DKNJ, there are hundreds of posters on the Schmoo thread (and we're very glad you're now among them!), many who just read or read and occasionally post, like CamilleP, Streetangel, SLH, GrandpaRM and QsZoo. I started here in earnest back in '08 when Schmoo confronted dental problems that almost killed him;  he had a following back then -- Beastielove and Beauty Junkie remember those days!  Then in 2010, he developed double-sided heart failure, which was supposed to kill him in days.

Instead, he lived nearly 3 years.  On Jan. 14, 2011, I started a daily thread as I struggled to cope with his condition, which morphed over time in a slew of other organ failures; still he survived. The posters here helped my family cope and but I daresay they fell in love with my Fighter Kitty, who made us all a bigger family still. The thread ran continuously through his death on April 19, 2013 and up until June 15, 2015, when QVC suspended old threads for a new posting format.

They kept this original thread's first posting, but cut the rest of 2011-2013, then picked up again in 2014-June 15, 2015.  You can read that thread HERE.  I hope this helps!

We're taking it easy today -- watched DH's New England Patriots win their playoff game tonight.  It took me back to when Schmoo and Sophie would watch the games with us.  Unless they got fed up and decided to hang out on Daddy's Patriots red-white-and-blue blankie upstairs:

Re: That Schmoo, he is one tough kitty fighter -- 2.0

Hey, hey, HEY, everyone!  Wow, it's been a very long time since I last checked in!!  I still have trouble even finding this Forum, I really haven't been on the Q's Forums for awhile, any of them.  I wanted to check in and tell all of you I love and miss you all, been dealing with some pretty intense family issues for months now, and am taking each day one day at a time.  Radar and Gracie are doing well currently, although I just had Radar to the vet last week fearing a new kidney infection, but it turned out to be his spasming back again.  He got a pain shot and some kind of laser/heat treatment, plus came home with 3 syringes of pain meds (one every other day) and he is feeling much better and much more spry.

I would never be able to go back and read through months of postrs that I have missed to find out what all has happened to all of you and your precious furbabies, but please know that I think about you all every day, and of course, I see some of you on Facebook which is great!

I will try to check in more often!  Gonna add the Forum page to my Favorites and hope it works!  Oh yeah, I had to get a new laptop last year and am still learning it!  LOL!

Re: That Schmoo, he is one tough kitty fighter -- 2.0

Tissyanne I'm so glad your Sugarbear is ok. Thinking of beauty and her husband and saying prayers, Shop and her mom. Praying the chemo will work and she will tolerate it. Dear KittySitter, someone once told me grief is the price of love. So I know your grief is deep, because your love for Chub was deep. You gave him a life of luxury, pampering and love when he was tossed aside. God brought him to you because he knew you were Chubby's Angel on this earth. Sammycat, your love for Schmoo and your beautiful writing drew us all here. For that I give you my heartfelt thanks.
Brb, thinking of you too! Hope I left no one out. Tibbs and I wish you a blessed week!

Re: That Schmoo, he is one tough kitty fighter -- 2.0

Sunday report:  Hello everyone this Sunday evening.  Good to see you, Streetangel, and Beauty Junkie, Happy Birthday and many more to your DH! AnikaBrodie, we hope you kick those ear problems to the curb real soon.

For those having a hard time finding this, just bookmark it either the Schmoo thread or the Pet Lovers forum.  Problem solved!

My back and body are unhappy with the new gait created by my new knee. Right now I can only rest for about 20 minutes without having to move -- just too uncomfortable. No wonder it takes one year to recover from this surgery -- the knee is the least of it!  But I have to keep plugging away with my back exercises and hope for the best.

Perhaps all I need is "deep-dish nap" training from the master:
