@ECBG   I never heard of sedating a dog for a nail clip.  Vet techs know how to hold and handle the most difficult dogs, even my little brat.

@SilleeMee    I think you have to start with the Dremel when they're puppies.  If I approached my dogs with one, they'd go through the ceiling.  The breeder of my Jett (avatar) conditioned her puppies with one when they were tiny and he never blinked an eye at it.

I've conditioned my Aussie to having his paws handled and he doesn't mind it now but when I pick up a tool he still goes berserk.

Bless that little heart!  I feel that way too when I have to do certain things.

Poor pup.  I took my dog to the vet for a nail trim today.  Even though she's small, it's too hard for me to hold her and try to trim her nails.

Have you ever heard pigs when they have to undergo any procedure?  Their scream is their only defense and they can scream bloody murder.  That what this pug reminds me of.

@Kachina624   City Girl here and haven't been around pigs (except BBQ ribs).  LOL, but have heard squeeling on Animal Planet type shows. Pathetic.

@Shanus   You ought to watch Dr. Pol.  I've learned more about the rear end of a cow than I ever thought I wanted to know.  It's sort of a horrible fascination.

@SilleeMee Funny to us but like trauma for the pug.  We had a dog that the vet cut his nails off in the quick and put toilet paper on his feet.  The vet sent him home in this shape & till this day he will eat you up if you "mess with his feet."

My groomer uses ClotIt powder just in case she has an incident. That stops the bleeding almost instantly. But it's not fun for the poor dogs to have a nail cut too short.Smiley Sad @Boomernichols

@SilleeMee  Ah, another Golden lover?  Woman Very Happy

I've tried using a Dremel, but have found it takes sooooooo long to take just a little off, and the nail gets very hot.
