I also have my dog on Simparica Trio for a short time now. I was giving her

a separate pill for ticks and then a heartworm pill also. We are in a wooded

area and ticks are heavy so this works pretty well. My vet recommended

this because it is a 3-in-1 pill. She is approximately 50lbs. and soon 4 years.

 

I also was worried about the side effects but so far everything thankfully is

fine. It saves me the aggravation of buying 2 separate medicines.

The benefit of Simparica Trio is it is protects against worms, fleas, ticks...the whole shabang in one pill.  Much more convenient than having to give them multiple medications.

True, but if there is concern about side effects, the injection may be a viable alternative.
