@Tinkrbl44  Amen to that, we have many rescue kitties and when I can progress enough to win their trust it makes my soul feel wonderful.

It is an amazing feeling for sure!!! We went to the vet yesterday-never really a fun destination-we had a wait as 'our' doc was caring for an emergency patient who had ingested poison-so we just sat back and I opened my phone to cruise FB...my phone was nearly dead. The gals at the desk gave me a charger to use!! One of the other patients remarked that they thought that was above and beyond service rather snottily. Theresa looked at her and said, "She's a rescuer", that made my heart smile, and I said that I was there as much as some employees!

So true! This was the case with one of my cats (who passed away several years ago). It took 1.5 years before she sort of stood on my lap on her own decision....and was initially only for about 3 seconds....She gradually stayed on my lap longer and longer....and before she passed away at 17, she was the cat who constantly stayed on my lap....She turned into the MOST affectionate cat among all of the cats I've had over the years. She was a joy! I still miss her!
