Just a heads up for anyone who receives packages from Chewy. Every year, a friend sends a box or two from Chewy to our kitties for Christmas.
Never had a problem before until this year. Two of the (gift) packages were delivered to my front door. My adult son was the first coming home to notice the delivery. Moving the boxes a little on the front step so he could open the front door, he noticed what appeared to be two small roaches running from the boxes. Upon further looking, he told us not to bring the boxes in and leave them outside on the front step until he could examine the boxes more throughly.
Sure enough, more roaches were coming from the boxes. I told him to immediately throw the boxes with all the contents into the outside garbage, which is what he did.
Having said that, I honestly don't know if the roaches originated from Chewy or the delivery truck the packages were on. I will thank the friend who sent them without saying anything about it, but I thought I would give anyone a heads up on making sure any delivery packages are inspected thoroughly before bringing them inside.

Did you contact chewy?

@goldensrbest Yes, I sent Chewy an email at their corporate office.

@ciao_bella. I'd certainly call Chewy and notify them. I get boxes and big brown envelopes from all the usual places almost daily for years and have never had that happen.

I've ordered from Chewy for many years and never had a problem! I imagine if it was a chewy problem they would have many many complaints!

Never had Chewy shipments with roaches. But I will keep an eye out just in case. You just never know.

@ciao_bella I have recently seen roaches on my front porch for the first time in 29 years living here. I heard on next door that the county use to spray the manholes for them but recently stopped.
Just wondering if you have seen any on your porch previously? I would think if they were inside the box how would they get out? Arent the packages sealed? Not trying to be rude just wondering.

I just received a box on Tues. of dry and wet food and didn't see anything like this. Sorry this happened to you.
