Just finished baking some homemade dog biscuits!  I'm sure it's no big deal to most of you, but I don't even make homemade cookies for me.  I did try making cookies a couple of years ago:  tried sharing some with the plowman (usually make a snack for him when he's out plowing for hours) and he kinda, as politely as possible, didn't want any more the next time he plowed...  In other words, I'm definitely not a baker.  And, when I do try, and it comes out all right, it's almost equivalent to the parting of the Red Sea!!!!!  Anyways, my furbaby really enjoyed them.  (Maybe he was just being politeWoman Embarassed - oh my!

Yea! You're a good mom! I can see myself making dog biscuits but nothing else in the house lol!

And so funny about the poor plowman-my sentiments-I've had the same w/ me (not about baking but almost anything else lol!

I have 6 doggies and make treats for them at least once a month. My son got me a dog cookie cookbook and I've tried quite a few of the recipes. They like peanut butter ones the best. Yes, you are a good doggy mama!!

Just went by the Bone Maker cookbook - didn't have all ingredients so faked it.  He liked his cookies - had 6 today!!!  Just gave in 'cause he could smell the cookies baking, then it was "tea time" and finally, dessert after supper!  I really admire you for making cookies for six - WOW!  Also just got the King Arthur biscuit mix, so will try that next - not a softie so can put on a baking sheet(s) and oven bake.  Would appreciate your advice on a good cookbook...

Like that one better!  Mine makes four at a time too, but the cookies are about half the size - they're two in front, two in back.  The Sunbeam is better 'cause it would cut the time in half!!!  (It's ten minutes per batch.)

I guess I'm a bad dog mom.  I stopped giving dog biscuits to my boy because they just seemed like empty calories.  He doesn't get treats real often, but when he does, it's a couple little pieces of fruit, berries, leftover veggies, or a little bit of peanut butter.

Hi Goldenlocks!! Glad Shadow liked his homemade treats! I want to try doing this for my furbabies! They are so fussy so I don't know. A girl I used to worth with used to sell homemade biscuits and I would always buy them. Truth is my babies hardly ever ate them! But I would like to try making them with ingredients I know they love!
Hope everyone is having a great day!❤️❤️❤️❤️

@bichon mom

I've got the one that makes the small biscuits, but it takes a while 'cause you can only bake four every ten minutes, so gotta do it when doing stuff around the kitchen.  But, Shadow loved them!  But, of course, Shadow loves food!!!

Had to fudge the recipe 'cause promised the mailman some for his dogs - one has an illness and can only have certain ingredients.  So, ground up Q-oats to sub for the flour; then ran short of oatmeal, so added grated cheese and extra honey and a little less milk  The real test will be if the mailman's dogs like them!

Gonna make some biscuits from the King Arthur homemade dog biscuit mix this week.  Will bake those in the oven - have to roll them out and use a cookie cutter so I got a dog bone shaped cutter.  Sure Shadow will enjoy them - the mix is whole grain wheat, oats, brown rice and flax so it should be good for him also.

One suggestion, for what it's worth, you might want to make separate cookies for Chloe and Brandy, putting meds/vitamins for each.  I used to put Dinovite and Extend along with other stuff when I made meatloaf for Jade.  Kinda easier to sneak things in that way.  Shadow-Jaden will eat anything - I just sprinkle the probiotics over his kibble and the licks it right up!!!

Keep me updated!  Shadow's sending luv to Brandy and Chloe...

You're a Good Mom!!!!!

My boy likes cookies so much, I decided to make some 'cause figured homemade would be healthier - that's the only reason.  He's had a difficult situation before coming to me so I kinda like to give him extra vitamins, etc.

I'm not expert, but two quick and simple snacking suggestions if you'd like:  Yogurt sprinkled with Q-oats and also, sliced banana topped with peanut butter and/or honey are big hits in our house!
