Hi!
I am fostering a momma and 5 kitties and have fallen in love with them all. Has anyone ever fostered before? How do you get over adopting them out to their furever homes?
My babies are only 6 weeks old, so I'll have them for a while. But I already decided to adopt momma and one baby, so I am considered an adoption fail!!
Any input is welcome

LOL the last litter I took in, we kept two of the three kittens. They were 4 weeks when we took them in with their mom. So yea, that's the problem. I have 7 cats now and all of them were rescues or strays I took in.
I have to run out, I'll check back later.

I haven't fostered any fur babies but I know I would fall in love and want to add them to our family. I'm not sure why it's a "fail" because the main objective is to find them a loving home- and you did for two of them so far.
Bless your kind heart. I think when you place the others in loving homes you will be OK with it. Good luck!

Hats off to all those who foster...you are the best!! I absolutely love cats, so I would fail as a foster because I'd have to keep them all!! My daughter is a cat magnet...she has had 3 strays bring their babies to her house. She found good homes for them, after keeping two for herself, but one couple let one run away when they opened their car door, and neither she nor I could sleep for weeks wondering if the little fellow was able to survive. Heartbreaking!

My good friend tried this. A few were adopted (which was hard on her). When the others weren't adopted, and it was time for them to go back to the shelter, she couldn't let them go. She had a fairly large house, and about 7 or 8 litter pans that she cleaned every day. I never smelled a thing in her house, and when I visited, I would only see one or two of the cats at a time.. Everyone lived in perfect harmony. It can be done, and your are definitely not a "fail!"

My foster fail is lying in her dog bed snoring. Her name is Gypsy. I did foster one other dog who has now found an amazing home and family. They send me pics s and I will keep him while they go on vAcation. I cried when he left but knowing he has such a great life is awesome.
