When I lived in Redondo Beach CA the local pd's often had these training sessions open to the public. The handler is in control and the dog is doing his/her job.
I love this breed.

I see an Officer focused on her partner. One hand firmly on the harness the other with a grip on the short lead. So, Yes. I would say she is in control.
No idea what the dog is focused on. Maybe something she pointed him on, maybe something he saw himself.

It's hard to tell just from this photo ... but I'd say yes. We have two Belgian Mallies, a 7-year old male and 1-year old female. They are powerful dogs ... very protective of the house and property ... and extremely loyal and loving to those they know. There's no need for a burglar alarm with these two in our family. btw ... they get along with our two cats as well. In fact, our female cat keeps the dogs in-check. She swats their snouts if needed, and they back-off 😬

@mike995134 Your dogs are beautiful. I have no experience with the breed, but I want to learn more about them. Thank you for sharing.

@mike995134 Your babies are just beautiful. I have a friend who had a Belgian Tervuren. She was a great animal. Very protective and when I first met her she was very hesitant to greet me. As I sat on the couch she gradually became very friendly, and from then on she was my good friend. No matter which of the Belgian's, you would not be sorry to live with one (or two or three).

I love this breed.
That's what this photo looks like to me. The handler encouraging the dog's focus before giving a command.
