Ladies, Question about Linea Jewelry?

This was posted on Louis' blog:

Louis,
Loving the shows and your presentations! Good choice not to return to CT today-that’s a long ride, even in good weather. Windy, rainy and miserable here. Better weather tomorrow.
I discovered my favorite necklace, the double row metallic beads in silver, has discolored. I didn’t think to store them in airtight jewelry box. I’m hestitant to clean them with silver polish. Do you think your jewelry manufacturer can help? Luckily, I have a back-up but I do like to wear the two together!
Looking forward to seeing you again later tonight. Take good care.

Right now I have all my Linea jewelry labeled, in the boxes.  I sometimes don't realize everything I have (imagine that?) and I have been thinking about a solution to storage.  My daughter made a decorative wall hanging with a wood pallat and chicken wire.  I was planning to do something similar and hang my jewelry open, so I can see and choose what I want.  After reading Maryinct's post, I'm worried about open storage?  Has anyone else had problems with this?

I store my smaller pieces, shorter necklaces, earrings, etc., in their boxes or in drawers that remain closed.  However the very long necklaces and chains, the fish, single Y bar necklaces, palm frond necklaces, I hang on my wall for easy access and prevention of tangling/knotting.

I use old sewing machine needles and a small hammer and "nail" them into the drywall at an upward angle (use nails on plaster) and they work great.  I can store several on one pin.  The needles leave a very small hole in the wall.

I've done this for several years and they are not discolored or damaged at all.  In fact keeping them untangled is a good thing.

I have a small jewelry armoire with the hooks in the doors but the necklaces are then out of sight, and too long for the doors.  If I would notice any discoloring I'd get them back in their boxes asap though or use the armoire more.

It will be interesting to hear what others have experienced with jewelry storage!

I store all my necklaces, especially bulky beads, in Colleen Lopez's (HSN) Prestige anti tarnish necklace boxes.  They hold a lot and things can be stored either vertically or horizontally.  There is a clear window on the front so they also make a nice display.
