That is quite an extensive and varied lineage you and your family posess! I guess with each relative the results will vary with the addition of the other parent.
I have never explored my ancestry. I'm sure to investigate at some point. Thanks so much for sharing.

1jac,
One last comment on this: All those listed ethnicities reach back 1,000 years; some are mere specks on my DNA strands or what they call "trace."
I have only one "Ethnic Community," and that is "Southern European." My main ethnic strands are: "Italy/Greece," "Europe East," "Caucasus" and "European Jewish," in that order.
Today on Ancestry.com, I see that they further show where my DNA has been through the ages. Utterly fascinating! This is something new.
p.s. Today the Ancestry site states that "Europe South" (for my case) is Greece, Turkey and Albania. I'm getting a fair idea of things now. There is a young woman at church, and I once heard that she was Albanian rather than Greek. Why I was interested was that she looked much like me, to a degree. Now I am seeing and understanding more about physical features.

Funny you mention the Greek/Albanian heritage. When we were younger DH & I toured Munich & saw Ludwig I of Bavaria’s Beauty Gallery. One woman — a teenager of about 18 was of Greek descent.
I remarked to DH how she looked like a version of me at that age.

JJM,
How lovely you are, I am sure, and were in your fresh youthful days. That portrait is lovely, and if it suggests your young self, all I can say is that you were, indeed, a beauty. Are you, then, of Albanian descent? I infer this from your post, but, of course, you do not have to answer that question.
The coloring and the nose of the woman in the portrait are similar to mine. Yes, I have an upturned nose, thanks to my father. My mother's nose was straight at the bridge, too, but it did not turn up as mine does.
I am a bit different from the woman pictured, though, and if I may be presumptuous to present photos of two women to whom I was compared when younger, I will go ahead and do that..
Being generous with comparisons I heard, I was a cross between Claudia Cardinale (I had, however, lighter skin and darker hair but the mouth is almost dead-on) and Marlo Thomas (I was not delicately built like her, but she has that "Italy/Greece" element as well as the "Asia West" element (her father was Lebanese) like me. Of course I do not look like this today. In fact, it is astonishing the way one's looks change as one ages. Been noticing that my nose looks fleshier at the end these days. Does that happen with age? LOL
In any event, the woman of Albanian extraction at church shares with me the coloring of my yourth as well as the nose. She honestly looks like a slightly more westernized version of me.
Here are the photos that I shamelessly present as suggesting the younger me. I know. What nerve. Anyway, it is what I heard way back when. Do any of these pictured women suggest you?

OMG, you have got to be beautiful!!! Not just saying this. I have always thought the Italians and Cubans produce sooo many gorgeous people. They just almost routinely pop out beings who are a joy to behold.
Strangely enough, my aging self does not resemble either one of them (the aged Claudia and Marlo); rather, I am looking more like the sister of Diane von Furstenberg.
Go and figure.

I know Louis is not doing any of his wonderful WK ponchos or wraps this year... so for anyone looking for a wrap or ruana, this one A301085 from Martha Stewart is amazing. Reviews are great. The fabric is cotton, viscose, nylon & cashmere and at $49.98 is a steal. I purchased it in oatmeal and it's so luxe and substantial. Just fyi...
@GraceCOYou are so right Grace. I bought this ruana in black and I love it! I was so pleased I purchased a second one in pink.and I am not one to buy multiples .
Thank you--I appreciate your support and I'm relieved to know I'm not alone in thinking this ruana is special! Glad you are also enjoying it--the 5-star reviews can't all be wrong-- so hoping they reorder more colors soon. I'm crossing fingers they restock the black and maybe add a true red to the mix. Like you, I try not to buy multiples (except wth Linea), but couldn't resist...waiting for my navy to arrive. I have to say, Martha Stewart knocked this one out of the park!
Today is a snow day here and I'm wrapped up in the oatmeal ruana, as I write this post. So cozy.
