Another Ruffle Blouse Review!

I just received my two ruffle blouses last night, so I tried them on this morning.  I opened the bag to the black one, first.  While the material is less yielding and less smoothe and comfortable than that of some of his other satiny/silky blouses (like the leopard print blouse that could double as a decadent pajama top), the fit was fine, and the look was polished, feminine, and very pretty.  I immediately thought that I would not like it nearly as much in the plum color, because black is just dark and mysterious to me, and I just love wearing black clothing.

Next up, the plum ruffle blouse.  I was shocked to find that I loved it in that color, perhaps a tiny bit more than I did in the black.

I tried both on under the riding jackets, and the ruffle at the neck was a lovely, unexpected detail that none of my other blouses could provide.

I find the ruffle blouses dramatic, different from everything else I own, and extremely attractive to the eye.  The outer layer of fabric has fine lines in it, too, adding to its interest and style.  I did not find the ruffles overwhelming, as both tops are dark in color (ditto the ruffles in the same dark color), and the ruffles are quite small in scale and in appearance when compared to the volume of the ballooning sleeves.  I did not find the top tight in the upper regions to the left and right, despite my two, ahem, outwardly projecting body contours in those areas.

Verdict:  I'm keeping both, and I will look forward to wearing them either with or without a riding jacket.
