I don't know what that is? Does a cool girl let out an "eeeeeeeeeeek"?

This was discussed here when I learned it has a negative meaning ...I guess.
When used in my youth it was positive. The "cool girl" was usually pretty, popular, got good grades, mature for her age, dressed very well in high qualty clothing, and possessed traditional moral values.
It was a huge compliment to be called a "cool girl."

It still means "popular" I just read an article in the Washington Post about the kicker on the Cincinnati Bengals team who said "he now gets to sit at the cool guys table", for his last minute save the game kicks. He is brand new and only 22.

Lol. It was rare in my school to be called a "cool girl." Usually the one designated the "cool girl" remained the cool girl throughout my school years.
There were "some" in my class who fit the description, but were not called that. I think it might be the one the males were most likely to want to ask out for a date. The cool girl always had blond hair.

@rms1954 I'm pretty sure saying (screaming) eeeeeek has nothing to do with being a cool girl, except maybe being a cool girl you could get away with it more than just your 'average girl' could.
Not sure I've ever heard that being called cool was a negative, but maybe when it's used in a sarcastic way? Or maybe it's meant to say someone is being an elitist or a bully? Honestly, have no idea.
I will say, that in my opinion, a truely cool girl (or boy) is so cool that they would never even think of themselves that way.
