A306868 French Terry Top With Raglan Sleeves

I got this in the Neptune Blue color choice, which is a pretty shade of medium blue, suitable for all year round.  However, I am not keeping this top.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the pkg. was that I didn't really care for the lighter color blue of the ruffle part (lighter material).  It kinda looked to me as if the darker blue of the body of the garment had faded into a previously white ruffle, which of course wasn't the case but I just didn't care for the particular shade of blue used on the ruffle part.

The material was heavier than I would like for spring, and there was something really heavy about the bottom of it - where the ruffle part doubled up with the Fr. terry.  Also, there was something odd about how the sides are shorter than the front and back.  The silhouette of this particular garment made it uncomfortable along the hemline - at least for me (and Mellie2, I suspect this garment may be too short for you, although the color should work well with our blue Halston joggers).  Anyway, for the price and given the vast amount of Lounge that I already own and love, I don't like it enough to keep it, although the body in the Neptune blue is a pretty color.

I'm sorry the French terry top didn't work. If you don't love it we should send it back. As usual your description is spot on. You are really good at describing.

i am keeping mine though. I just tried it on with the sea mist tank sold in the same show ( I think Jackie modeled the two pieces together in the show ) with the ponte knit joggers I have in a blue shade I forgot the name of and I really like it. Without the tank it would be too short for me but with it it's super cute.

The material is heavy for hot southern summers but I'm spending two weeks in Vancouver Canada in June and it will be perfect. We're spending some time in the mountains and for that reason it is a keeper for myself.

@Mellie2  So happy yours worked for you.  And thank you for the nice remark about my reviews. Smiley Happy

I ordered that very same tank (the TSV upsell I think it was) and  it came today (I think - haven't yet opened the pkg).  I will try it on with the Lounge Neptune Blue before I send it back, but since I'm not crazy about the color of the ruffle bottom of the Lounge and something about the hemline is uncomfortable to me (goes too far up on each side?)  then I'm 99% sure I'm sending it back.  The 1% not certain is for if I try it on with the tank and absolutely love it then.     It sound like you made yourself a very, very nice outfit.

In my case you are right; because as I said about I have so much Lounge, I must love a new piece  to keep it.

Re: A306868 French Terry Top With Raglan Sleeves

@Mellie2  I tried this on again today with the new sea mist printed tank (see the new thread I wrote today where I reviewed the tank).

My top is definitely going back.  First off, the tank hung down too far on me (I'm shorter than you) and so the proportion - on me - of tank showing to the top wasn't right with this top, and I didn't really like how the ruffle hemline color looked with the tank either .

But worse, I did discover my major problem with the top (so I'm glad I tried it on today because I didn't realize exactly what my major problem was the first time I tried it on).   It's where the sides of the top go up, they hit me at a really bad place on my hips and make my hips -- esp. with that ruffle fabric around the bottom of the top -  look much wider than they really are.   The sides of the top with ruffle just accentuate my hips and it's not a good look.

I am, though, really happy that you are happy with yours.  We have different body types and heights so I can certainly understand how a top could work well for you and not for me, esp. a top that is such a pretty color.  I do hope you'll also try it with your Halston blue joggers, as I suggested earlier.
