vacuum sealer update----a good thing

I got my vacuum sealer and used it the other day with much success!! is far and above better than my original one was--did a great job cutting and sealing up the bags then vacuuming and sealing them up  for the freezer. It does have an button for moist foods and also for using it on delicate things as well as a marinating  port. My old one did none of those things and was flat on the table; this one stands up so much easier to operate. I have alot of the accessories to use with it already----canisters and sealing mason jars and bottles too.  Very happy with it!

We have been looking for years at vacuum sealers. But still haven't bought one, yet. Maybe it is time.

Hi @wagirl , I’m back with another question.  I have looked, and there are so many different models.  I know you bought a Foodsaver brand, but would you mind saying what exact model you purchased?

@shoesnbags--this is what it looks like----it is the V3240 model. I found the best prices on ebay. This does all I need, not sure if there are more bells and whistles on other models---

@wagirl

Thank you so much!  I’m very comfortable shopping Ebay, so that’s fine with me.  Just needed guidance from someone like you who has used one of these food savers for years and is happy with her current purchase.  Cause I know nada about vacuum sealers. Don’t want to spend the money on a lemon lol.

Re: vacuum sealer update----a good thing

To all who have Foodsavers, just in case you don't know - I have found the best prices for bags on the Foodsaver website. Periodically they have two-for-one sales where you can get the bags for half price. This makes them cheaper even than Costco and you can choose the sizes you use the most. I use the 8 inch size much more frequently than the 11 inchers so I don't want to buy the boxes from Costco that have both in them. I also buy the bags called Gamesavers which are more heavy duty. I like them because I freeze a lot of bone-in meat and the bones won't poke out of the bag when all the air gets sucked out.
