I enjoyed watching them but wondered why they haven't made any new programs in a very long time. Sometimes though that mushy lovey dovey smoochy poochy stuff along with the kissing was ridiculous and fake. However, I'd still keep watching it if the recipes sounded interesting!! It seems like their perfect couple, perfect marriage image wasn't real after all. It's very sad.

I watched the show when it first came on. There were too many "relationship advice" talks from the guy and not enough cooking. I stopped watching after a few episodes.

Like Boo, I hate to hear that anyone is going through a divorce. I do hope they are well.

Not surprised. She annoys me, never shuts up. It's always the ones that brag how wonderful their marriages are.

I guess a lot of the "we can't keep our hands off each other" act on their shows was just for the show. I hope they are both doing well and I hope the show didn't contribute to the divorce.

wonder what will happen to the show?

Never went for all their lovey-dovey stuff and their "Gimme some sugar", that they used to do on their show. Consequently, after awhile when their shtick got old, and the show would come on, I would change the channel. His laugh was kind of creepy, and her 'spice fairy' was just plain ridiculous. Yeah, I'll just bet that she did that little gimmick every time the food needed seasoning when there were no cameras around.

The last time the were on QVC, I noticed Gina had lost quite a bit of weight. She looked very healthy but not very happy. She didn't have that sparkle in her eyes like she used to. I don't think that has been too long ago that they were on with their new book...

Maybe they are trying to convince themselves.

Or trying to convince their audience they are still A-OK to keep selling books and products.

Just read on TMZ that they couldn't stand each other during the entire show.

"The cooking couple that starred in "Down Home With The Neelys" hated each other FOR YEARS ... enduring 11 seasons of mutual contempt before calling it quits.

Sources close to both Pat and Gina Neely tell TMZ ... the marriage was doomed even before the show fired up in 2009 ... and the pressures of TV made things a lot worse.

We're told the Neelys had no idea the show would endure but they rode the fame train when it became a hit ... with each accusing the other of having an unquenchable thirst for the spotlight.

Now that they've thrown in the towel ... he's splintered off by himself and believes Gina will fail without him. The reason ... his family owns the famous recipes and he's the master chef. As for her ... she thinks she can trump him because she's a bigger TV personality.

They will still be tied at the hip in NYC ... where they co-own Neely's Barbecue Parlor. They have no plans to sell it.

Gina filed the divorce papers earlier this month."

The article also stated that they have been living apart for quite some time. So much for the lovey dovey stuff on their shows!

I was going to write the same thing! I learned a while ago when Loni Anderson used to be on QVC and then husband Burt Reynolds would call in and it was all lovey dovey..."and he gave me this piece of jewelry and he gave me that piece of jewelry". After one show, literally the next day there was word of a divorce. I guess like everything else on TV, it is all acting! I don't believe anything I see on TV.

They should both go into acting, then, because you sure could not see the contempt at all! Like I said in my other post, I have learned not to trust the lovey-dovey stuff. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
