I think I lost my respect for Kuhn Rikon. or however you spell it....are you kidding me? Even if you new to avacadoes, this device was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen!

I grew up eating half of an avacado as a salad from time to time. We don't eat that way now, but my mom taught me to run a spoon around the meat and the shell. There was no nonsense about special blades to remove the pit: it just pops out! And then she would pour Italian dressing where the pit had been...as I said, we don't eat that way now, but this was indeed, one of the silliest things I've ever seen on "In the Kitchen"...and then mashing it? A fork or whatever has always worked perfectly well...I really don't need a "special" avacado masher!
