OH MY! Wish I had your problem.

There are two excellent bakers in our neighborhood. There is a bakery called Fritz's that makes excellent sticky buns. And there is an Amish Market that also makes excellent sticky buns.

We have bought from both places and they happen to be warm on occasion. It makes you keep coming back often and for more.

@hunt and peck - If you can't find them in a local bakery or grocery store, there are many ways to make these buns, ranging from full scratch baking to quicker/easier recipes that use premade dough. But I have to agree with a previous poster that the buns from Jimmy the Baker are really good! You can get them with or without nuts, and it's so nice to have them tucked away in the freezer, all ready for when a craving may strike. Just thaw for 30 minutes at room temperature, microwave for 30 seconds, and enjoy some sticky bun goodness! 

(Note: You can buy Jimmy's sticky buns from his website and through Amazon, but QVC typically has better deals that pop up, especially at this time of year for Christmas in July and sometimes as autumn begins and the holidays draw nearer.)

I prefer a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting over a sticky bun. DH doesn't use brown sugar when he makes cinnamon rolls. 

Cinnamon Rolls are sweet but sticky buns are over the top sweet.

Most grocery store baked good are too awful to waste the calories.  However, some bakeries carry sticky rolls and Jimmy the Baker has them occasionally.

@Nightowlz I agree!  Sticky buns are hard in places sometimes and gummy, and a great cinnamon roll is soft, bready and with just enough frosting and filling.  I never did like the texture of sticky buns.

For an easy recipe, buy frozen bread dough, like Rich's.  Thaw it out, then roll into a rectangle.  Spread with butter, sprinkle cinnnimon and brown sugar.  Roll it up and cut into 2 inch pieces.

Put some butter, brown sugar and cinnimon in a round cake pan.  Sprinkle with nuts if desired.  Lay the cut dough in the pan with the cut sides facing up.

Bake.  While still warm dump out on to a plate.  Syrup on the bottom of the pan will on on top of the buns.

My kids used to make these all of the time when they were young...so easy.

My local independent bakery which is about 100 years old still makes them.  I do not buy them because of the nuts.  They are pretty.

I never ate or made a sticky bun--but those look amazing!! Have never made any type of bun like that either and really, am not a donut /sweet bun fan---altho I must admit--at a local restarant, they make cinnamon rolls the size of a dinner plate and about 3-4 inches tall loaded with all types of stickiness--and I have partaken in that--along with a table full of friends. But never tried to make any.

@Kachina624  You are correct about "most."  Acme sells nasty sticky buns.

In my neck of the woods there are grocery stores w/their own kitchens as well as bakery kitchens.  

Shoprite is one of those grocery stores that has 2 seperate kitchens. 

Everymorning you can purchase right out the oven sticky buns & a side of right out the oven Italian bread. 👍🏾

It's also family owned.  Unknown if that makes a difference.

I have to say, I usually cheat with pillsbury cinn rolls and just make my own pecan topping.  @Carmie I'll have to try the frozen bread dough.  So simple.
