Does anyone know what the Padermo 4th blade is for (rather than the model with 3 blades)?

Someone I know just got one and loves it. We eat lots of veggies, and I cook every day, and I thought I'd be MORE tempted to get one of these thingies, but for some reason I'm not. I know that there are recipes out there and that you can use it on other vegetables, but when I think of it or consider it, I only think zucchini or other squash. And for me that seems limiting. I am a minimalist when it comes to gadgets and if I get one I like something that has multiple uses.

What do you do with the veggies after you spiralize them?

yes, I do and love it! I use it mostly for zucchini pasta with a raw pasta sauce...yummers! I know it doesn't sound like it, but after you've been living this lifestyle for some time...a "pasta" dish really is a treat!

There are a lot of recipes online, many are used in replacing regular noodles with spiral veggies, as in pasta dishes.

Others are used for salads.

Google "spiralizer recipes", there are many online and even a Pinterest collection of them.

Thank you for this post. I purchased the GEFU Spiralfix Spiral slicer from BBY with coupon and looking forward to the many healthy dishes I can create with zuchinni, carrots, beets, etc. Thanks again!

Does anyone know what the fourth blade is for on the Paderno?

I wonder about the difference between the model with three blades and the model with four.

The Paderno looks very large and kitchen space has become a problem for me. What do others think? Is that just the photo or are they really big?

Now included is a fourth blade that will make endless delicate angel hair strands, and a metal pin that is used in conjunction with the straight blade to make spectacular accordion-style vegetables Paderona 4 Blade Spiralizer

Check out the review at http://www.inspiralized.com/2014/09/16/the-new-paderno-4-blade-spiral-slicer-spiralizer-review-give...

I decided on the GEFU because of the compact size for storage.

I have the $15 version you get at BBBeyond and I made zucchini summer squash noodles. They are a good substitute for pasta if you are watching carbs/calories. I have to be honest nothing really beats real pasta but this a good sub.

I have made Alfredo type sauce, pesto, tomato sauce with it.

As far as the $15 version at BBY, it seams that you waste some of the vegetable as it does not peel the entire veggie. I know you can probably either slice it up or snack on it but for me I would rather be able to spiral cut more of the vegetable. JMHO
