I really don't barbeque, but one thing for sure that I prefer is charcoal over propane. The gas just makes everything taste like gas, IMO. Learned that the hard way, many years ago at one of these 'bring your own food' bbqs (I know - tacky, but those folks were a tacky bunch).
We brought a couple of small filet mignons because we didn't want anything large. We were not familiar with cooking on a propane bbq. Sure did destroy those nice, expensive steaks!

I know people who grilled out during our last brutal winter. We're not like that and only grill during the warm weather. Generally, it is simple things like brats, hamburgers and steak.

We have a natural gas grill also. We grill no matter the weather.
We cook everything: salmon, pork, beef, chicken, veggies, shishka-bob, burgers, hot dogs.

I do mostly steaks, burgers, and veggies. I'd never done asparagus on the grill before, but last year someone here or on RS told about it, and we've been hooked ever since! I do foil packets on the grill often. Sometimes it's potatoes and onions and pieces of green peppers, etc. and another idea from RS was cabbage wedges w/butter, S & P in foil pouches. It's wonderful and so darned easy! Sometimes I'll do halibut filets, and I've done shrimp. By the way, when doing potatoe packets, my DH always asks me to turn the heat up on high for several minutes so it will get a little toasty burned on the bottom. It's his favorite favorite thing!! Sometimes he's so easy to please!
