Anyone found a really good lactose-free yogurt (preferably Greek for added protein)? I'm really missing it since my lactose intolerance has made me give up all dairy.

Re: Lactose-Free Greek Yogurt?

Any Greek yogurt has WAY less lactose (up to 85% less) than regular yogurt. The lactose is in the whey, and Greek yogurt is strained.

I use Lactase drops in my milk (the drops let me treat the entire gallon at once), and I take Lactase when eating most all other dairy. When I make my own yogurt, I strain overnight until it's almost like yogurt cheese so I can eat without any problems.

Re: Lactose-Free Greek Yogurt?

There was a frozen yogurt place in Hawaii that served over 100 different flavors. They had a big sign up that explained that the cultures in yogurt made it OK even for people with lactose intolerance to eat it. I've done so, and never had a problem.
