I bought 2 small brownies today in a bakery cost almost 4 bucks

Came home and opened the sack and had to microwave the things they

were hard, dry and stale.

Treated myself since high winds are coming in and had to get things done early before I couldn't leave the house and even though it's not the weekend I was making an exception.

Thank God I can cook I'd beeen ashamed to charge 4 bucks for 2 tiny brownies that were dried out. Make my own from now on and for half price.

Sorry about the bad brownies.

But, you don't have to explain why you needed or wanted a treat!

@SharkE @I think the price was good coming from a bakery...too bad the quality wasn’t there..I hope you stay safe from the winds. If you can hang on to power you will be able to bake something great in your own kitchen this weekend.I am thinking cinnamon buns after that last picture you posted they haven’t left my head,

I think baked goods everywhere, including grocery stores, have gotten ridiculously expensive. I buy a brand of gluten-free bread that costs nearly $6 a loaf now. Why does it have to cost that much??

@SharkE  Hershey’s milk chocolate snack sized bars are good in a pinch, you made me want chocolate so I had to snitch one!

awwwww Bless your heart. I think they leave stuff out in the open air and maybe left over from day before. Not worth 4 bucks I always thought they had mine beat, but, not stale LOL I put stuff up in air tight containers, zip lock bags, etc.

If your gonna charge almost 2 bucks a brownie at least try your best to have them fresh. Ridiculous, microwaving a brownie like a pork chop LOL

awwwwww no ! don't want anybody to fall off the wagon. Reason I was treating myself on a Wed is hubbo had to work today and I was running around getting stuff  from library and paying my cable bill before I knew later on I wouldn't be able to stand up in the winds. 9 this morning it was still. Now, it's getting going.

I know myself and I have to watch impulse control. Hubbo can count out 10-15 chips and stop I've got a monkey on my back and I can't stop till I'd eat the whole bag. Since that's a habit from childhood and what made me gain so much wgt and knees to blow out I try to be strict as a drill sgt. LOL

Like a drunk I'll be going to pigs anonymous if I don't set guidelines.

I figure what I gain over weekend benders I can take off thru weekdays.

Don't know if brownie mixes interest you @SharkE  but I was impressed with Betty Crocker's triple chocolate chunk brownie mix. I needed a brownie type base for a recipe and that box mix produced really tasty brownies.
