Do you like wine with mulling spices ? If so do you mix it yourself or  purchase it prebottled. If purchased prebottled, where do you purchase, what brand, etc. Am I correct in thinking wine labeled christmas wine is different from wine with mulling spices? Thanks for any input here.

I am not much of a wine drinker at all. But I have warmed up red wine and put a package of apple cider mix in it.  Hope this is an idea anyway

I purchase pre-bottled from a local winery.  Used it over the Thanksgiving holiday and everyone loved it.  I've mixed it with their wines, other store bought wines and sangria.  All were delicious.

Guests that aren't big wine drinkers were surprised at how much they enjoyed it.

I've used cider spices from AspenTaste as well for wine and apple cider.  That works too.

I have a packet of mulling spices that I bought at the supermarket. I am waiting for the weather to get just a little colder. I also need to pick up some cheese cloth for the spices so I won't have a crock-pot castrophe when I add the wine !

I don't recall ever seeing "Christmas wine". You can use a good red wine-- get a recommendation from the clerk at the liquor store---just tell them what you are going to do with it. And make sure you use heat resistant mugs !!!

Tomasellos winery sells the best mulled spice wine! Free shipping if you join their rewards club. I just bought a bottle today, I live near the winery. It's in Hammonton, NJ.

@1905salad  Thanks for the info.  I'm going to check it out right now, sadly I don't think we can have wine shipped to our state - I've tried to ship wine to us before.....no go.  Who ever heard of such a thing, not me till we moved here.

But, never fear, I'll keep the site bookmarked for down the road!!Smiley Wink
