I've never gotten on a chip on my Le Creuset and I use my pieces all the time and my oldest ones are a good 10 years old.

Nor have I.    I don't know what I would have to do in order to make it chip, but it would take a lot of effort.

 

They are well made and durable, much unlike other brands especially the Chinese-made brands.

@Mistreatedbycs, I don't believe this is a discontinued item.  The only other place you can buy the grill or griddle pans is on the Le Crueset website.  They are called "The Bistro," the price is $160, and available in three colors only -- Cerise (cherry), Flame, and Marseille (blue).  I bought the TSV grill pan in Marseille.  Can't wait to use it, especially when bad weather prevents using my outdoor electric grill.
