The dicing feature came with the BIG 13-cup Kitchenaid, which I caved and bought when it was TSV. It is on top of the 'fridge since it is HUGE and I really don't need one that size. Today's value would be perfect for me. I actually am thinking about getting it today and trying to sell my big one - including the dicing kit. I think I would use the adjustable blade and the different size feed tubes more.

i just went on kitchen aid websight and looked up the 9 cup food processer for you. i dont thick you can use dicing kit on the 9 cup model. it just said you can buy the frech fry disc on it. it doesnt mention dicing kit at all, so i dont think it fits 9 cup or they would say it fits. i have the 13 cup that came with the dicing kit. its well worth the money for dicing kit alone plus everything else works really well.we got ours when it was special valu for 199.99 including the dicing kit.

if you want the dicing kit then you would have to get the 13 cup. my wife needs to have surgery on her hand so its hard for her to do alot of chopping like when she makes chicken soup. she uses alot of carrots potatos celery and 1 onion. dicing kit chops it all in like a minute. the first time she used it we couldnt beleive how fast it was, she just needs to peal skin off. and everything gous in the dishwasher. good luck . hope this helps you make up your mind.

If you want dice without attachment, slice vegies the thickness you want then slice in sticks and stand sticks up and slice in cubes again. I did that with my old cuisinart. Would rather do that than have the larger machine. Course my soup is pretty imprecise.
