@Pooky1Someone told me about a Donvier manual ice cream maker.  No salt or ice needed.

i have the old cusinart and i lve it.  cook's illustrated rates it as one of the best. you put the can in the freezer and then you are ready to go.  i make a ton of sherbet in mine
