I peel the bananas, break or cut them into pieces and wrap the banana in saran wrap. I usually use 1/2 banana for a smoothie...along with frozen strawberries or blueberries.

I don't peel mine first. I put them into a Ziploc bag since I was not aware that you could freeze them already peeled.

I've been freezing bananas, unpeeled, for years. We use them primarily in smoothies and for what we cell, 'banana whip'-- which is like a delicious light ice cream!

Depends on what I'm doing with them. Frozen desserts I peel. If I'm baking I freeze them whole. When they thaw I just cut the tip off and squeeze it into the batter.

I also leave the peels on, but I don't think it matters, you just need to know how many bananas your have if you are following a recipe, if they are all cut up, you would not know.

Hi Traveler....... I peel mine before freezing. I had a difficult time peeling mine when I froze them with the peel on. I also freeze them whole so that I know haw many to use in a recipe like banana bread.

My son owns a gym and they make protein shakes daily. You definitely want to peel the bananas. Cut them into 1/4 or 1/5 and put them on a cookie sheet and then freeze them. When they are hard go ahead and put into a zip lock bag. Enjoy - if you leave the skins on they won't peel good and are a mess.

I peel them, they're hard to peel when they're frozen. After I peel them, I cut the banana into 4 pieces. (cut in half, then cut the half in half)

I learned my lesson after the first time. I didn't peel one and I froze it for use, later on, in the Vitamix from a frozen state. Well, you cannot get the peel off of a frozen banana! oops!

So, after that, I peeled them and cut them up a bit. I froze them in halves and then vacuum sealed each half banana separately. That way they stay good for a long time. Otherwise, the air gets to them and it's not nearly as good.

I am so glad this question was asked! I have wondered for awhile if it was okay to freeze bananas & how to do it! Thanks!
