do you remember coffee cakes ?

when I was a kid, neighborhood ladies would bring over coffee cake and sit in the living room with my mom drinking coffee, eating coffee cake and chatting.

I remember luscious, flaky one layer cakes rich with butter and cinnamon and pecans and brown sugar, sometimes drizzled with a confectioner's sugar glaze.

makes me kinda drool to think about it.

does anyone else remember these? have a recipe to share?
