cookie exchange: help with getting started

Hi! I am new to this category, but love to cook. I seem to be a thread killer too-so please help me. I'm thankful for all help.

About 10-14 of us ladies get together every month for a ladies lunch- no kids, no DH's. We are going to do a cookie exchange at the December get together, we hope. None of us have done one before, but reading old posts here, they sound like a lot of fun.

My questions:

How many dozen of cookies does everyone bring? is it per person?

Do you bring copies of your recipe for every person?
