@bonnie f  Did you know when there are celeberity chef restaurants the chef gets paid for the use of their name? In some cases it could be as much as $30,000 a month. They are required to make a few appearances per year but they are not in the kitchen. I know this because my brother is an accountant and has a few chefs as clients that do this. This surprised me, I thought they were more involved.

Had a Bobby Flay's Burger Palace not far from where I live and it closed about six months ago.  Seems like a lot of his burger places have closed or in the process of closing.

@bonnie f  I just went to a Bobby Flays last Sunday.  It was at Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut.  We saw Rob Thomas in concert and had dinner there before going into the arena.  It is a very good restaurant, granted pricey but the food was delicious and the wine was good too!  It was our anniversary weekend so a special occassion.  Happy you enjoyed it.

@ciao_bellaI ate once in a BF burger place that opened in a large local mall.  The burger itself was okay, but the decor, the service, even the presentation??   no better than any fast-food chain.

No idea if that site is still open - but I'd never bother returning even if it is.

Re: bobby flays restaurant

The only bad reviews I've had the occasion to read are about his restaurant in the Bahamas  (Trip Advisor).  I suspect much of it has to do w/the ability of getting quality food in that area and the employees. It's near the Atlantis Resort.

I love watching Beat Bobby Flay. Saw him on Worst Cooks in America w/Anne Burell (??). Not a fan of the show but I've never seen chefs spit out so much food before....laughed so hard.

@millieshops. Because it was a fast food chain! It never claimed to be anything different.

We ate there once. It was ok but had to wait forever for the food. It closed in our mall.

Ate at Mesa Grill in NYC years ago. That has also closed but it was good.

That is the one I went to as Borgata is my moms casino.  Like yourself, I only at at Flays once.  The food is excellent as well as the staff was very friendly & attentive.

Very expensive.  Worth every penny.  I wanted to treat myself, my mother & paramour.  I used half of my comp points to defray the cost.  If I ever eat there again (likely), I will be paying w/casino $$$$ or use my mother's comp. Smiley Tongue

@proudlyfromNJI think when they first opened, the local press expected them to be somewhat better than the other fasr-food chains.  Their burgers were, but nothing was so good to encourage me to make the half hour drive there ever again.   To the best of my knowledge, none of the 8 of us in that group ever tried them a second time.
