I absolutely freaked out when the ice cream man came through our neighborhood.  I loved the chocolate eclair, strawberry shortcake, push pop or cannonball. I also had to get my dad a root beer or orange twin pop.

My parents didn't buy any of that stuff so I made my own.  I put ice cubes in a dish towel and pounded them into slivers.  Then I put them into a glass and put a mixture of dry KoolAid and sugar on top, stir it up, and ate it.

My other trick was to eat dry jello.  Just lick you finger and stick it into the package and lick it off.  My mother wondered why I had a red finger and she found out when she went to make a jello salad.

I always loved fudgesicles. Another favorite was a "Screwball". I loved the gumball at the bottom.
