It's funny, growing up we never had Chinese food.  I don't even remember a Chinese restaurant being around until after I married and moved.

There were no Chinese restaurants here in the country for decades. 

A girlfriend and I were shopping in a town many miles away in the 80s and she suggested Chinese for lunch.  I was hooked.  Where have you been my whole life?

Not a big fan of Chinese food, but will eat beef and broccoli, or chicken and broccoli.  I don't like the brown sauce it's cooked in, so I dump the carton in a colander and drain that off, and also never eat the white rice.

I LOVE what's called:  Chinese Long Green Beans.  The ones that are almost a foot long. I usually order them with chicken, but you can opt for pork, or shrimp.  All are great!

My neighborhood Asian grocery store (walking distance from home) carries these beans, too. They're hard to find.  I've attempted the dish at home, but can't quite capture the flavor of the take out.  Yet.
