Today is his last day. Wish people would just talk about his products and leave the pet peeves to themselves. Why watch him if you know it's gonna hurt your sensitivities. Insane.

If we were talking about QVC hosts this whole thread would had been poofed already. I just wanted folks that were TRULY interested to know when he was going to be on.

I have old carbon steel knives that are good, but I tire of the frequent sharpening they require and wanted an alternative, so I looked at the trio of Wolfgang's knives knocked down to half price.

I studied the video presentation that was on YouTube and decided against them. If you look at the actual cutting, you can see that Wolfgang has to exert more force than should be needed to cut the wedge of Parmesan cheese. A good knife that's really sharp is characterized by lack of resistance. Watch the meat cutting--he has to saw at the bottom of the slices to free them. That wouldn't happen with a really sharp knife. The host on the show mentioned them cutting "like butter," but from what I saw, they weren't.

If you're upgrading from very cheap knives, they'll probably seem great. If you have okay knives but never or rarely sharpen them, they'll probably seem terrific. But I have good knives that just need more maintenance than I'd like, so I'm passing.

@SharkE did you hear that Wolfie won't be back until the end of October?  I was kind of surprised to hear that but maybe with CS having the TS in a couple of weeks it makes sense.  To be honest, he didn't seem very happy when he mentioned it and the host sounded kind of surprised too (at least to my ears) . . . Smiley Sad

No, didn't hear that, weird. I didn't watch last show. Hubbo came home while I was painting cabinets (staining) had to get his lunch on table to busy.

I'd love to have that pressure oven, too, but, not in the cards right now.

Course, it's almost Sept. so he will have his Xmas blow out then probably

Eclipse hits here at 11:26 a.m. we plan to be at the Outback restaurant when it hits we always eat at 11 to avoid the crowds.
