@Gemspirit  An Instant Pot is a pressure cooker.   It has these preset buttons and most of them are absolutely not necessary.  All you really need is a pressure cook button, a saute/sear button, and perhaps a slow cook setting.  Personally that's all I use because all you need.

I had a pressure cooker, but gave it away to someone who needed it.  I have now been looking for a regular pressure cooker, but apparently they are all sold out or will be replaced by the new fancier ones.  So I did order the one from QVC which has 7 settings and that's fine.  I just ignore the ones I don't need.

This is my theory on new items.  If a shopping channel doesn't pick them up, they aren't worth much at all.  DH will see an item on an infomercial and I tell him to wait for it to show up on QVC, HSN, or Evine.  New companies would fall all over themselves to get this exposure.  Its us (meaning the customers) or Shark Tank.  And people like Laurie bring some items here anyway.

@Nightowlz They had an Instant Pot on two Sunday's ago, it sold out during the presentation, I bought one put in on a check, then changed my mind and put in on my Visa, 3 days later,I was then informed that it went to Advance Order, I doubt I will get it now, do they not speak about putting it on a check that you have 7 days to get them their money, why do they offer check payment if they oversell and put on advance order or Waitlist, 4 of my items I ordered  and put on check either went to Waitlist or Advance order when their was quantity available at the time I ordered, Beware if you choose to order and put on check, I think that is kind of underhanded business practice.  My Instant pot went on Advance order stating 03/28/2018 but expected delivery is not until later in April and it still sits in Advance order status?

@CareBears

I did not see the TSV. Half the time I don't know what it is.. LOL!!!

What size was it & what was the price?

If Q wants to except checks they should not send out your PC to someone else that paid by cc. If they are going to do they should tell their customers so you can decide if you want to pay by check or cc. Hope you still get yours.

@Nightowlz It was $79. and some odd change, I forgot what size it is.  I agree, 4 items ordered in 1 day and all put on Advance Order or Waitlist, that is ridiculous, as  I mentioned I canceled 3 of the items as I am not willing to wait around for who knows how Long to receive them!

Instant Pot caught everyone’s attention around ‘12-‘13.

Last couple yrs, they have been extremely successful on Amazon,

which is miles above a shopping channel...so I was surprised to see

them on QVC.   QVC used to be cutting edge...say, back in the

late 90s-early 00’s, but today I view QVC as an upscale outlet mall.

It almost saddens me to see my beloved Vitamix & Instant Pot

sold on QVC...almost cheapens the brand.

You missed it, Insta-Pot was on couple weeks ago, don't remember if it was ITKWD or ITKWM, but it sold out immediately.....

Just a FYI.....it’s Instant Pot....not insta-pot

Did you see the presentation?  What did they make?

@sidsmom  Yes I did watch the presentation, but it went quick due to limited amount and quick sell out. I was not interested and do not remember what was prepared....sorry!  Guess my disinterest was the reason for calling it "Insta-Pot".....

@depglass Instant Pot is an electric pressure cooker. It's gathered a cult following. If you'd like more info, watch YouTube videos for tips and recipes: Pressure Luck is a good place to start. There's a variety of sizes and models.

To me it's worth it for making yogurt and hard boiling eggs. The eggs slip right out of their shells! I've even made desserts in mine.
