@Bet2017 wrote:Everytime a food item is sold on QVC it's always $50, $60 or more~ it's just crazy, when you can just go to local grocery store or sometimes Amazon and get the same thing for way less... I could understand if the items were fresh, but it's frozen food....Just as well buy yourself a tv dinner & call it a day LOL.
Everyone has a choice. If a food on QVC doesn't appeal to you, just pass on it.
Some prefer convenience over product, ie, home delivery for people don't own a car, disabled, or agoraphobic.
If saving money is important to you, or adverse to consuming processed food, then buy your food in bulk at Costco, Food for, Less, Food Mart, etc.
Avoid dying of heart attack, stoke, or cancer. Avoid processed foods sold on QVC.

@software wrote:Some of the items purchased are probably desired by people who may have lived in the area, like Corky's BBQ, then moved away and would like more Corky's.
It's not like they eat it every day.
I would never buy a cake or cheese cake but I've been tempted once or twice buying a food product but it's just not my lifestyle. I live alone, the kids & grands come over often but it's just not worth it at any price.
I found something different in the grocery store lately. You've heard of Ball Park Franks? I found frozen Ball Park MEATBALLS. Contains bacon. Awesome! No point in making my own.
@software Did you like the BP meatballs? Not sure if awesome meant they were or that they make them, I'd love to know what you thought of them, thanks!

My family devoured them! Very good flavor.

Part of what make Q food prices so high is that they're usually shipped in large quantities. Personally, I wish they'd sell foods in smaller quantities for small households like mine. Five dozen potstickers would last us a year or more; I'd like to be able to get just a dozen or two. And I don't want 20 chicken breasts or rib racks at a time. I don't have that kind of room in my freezer.
As for the quality of QVC foods, I've found it to be all over the place, from yummy to inedible. I love the croissants and the Germack products and have enjoyed many other items. The worst food item I ever received was an assortment of kringle pastries - just terrible.
There are several foods QVC offers that I'd like to try, but won't because they're too expensive and/or an order is too large for my family. And as a home baker, when I see the Q charging $60 for a cake (just a regular cake, not a fancy decorated birthday or wedding cake), I just cringe and shake my head.

There were a few items I thought worth it. Crab cakes and BBQ. Corky's is fantastic. But now with less money to spend and the danger of food going bad, I prefer not to buy online anymore.

I'd say that some of the reason the food prices are so high is because that "free shipping and handling"...........ISN'T. It's simply added on to the price of the product. There's probably a minimum of $20 added to the price of anything shipped frozen in the styrofoam coolers.

The only food product I've bought from QVC I've been dissatisfied with was Mr. Wonderful's wine. I thought it was undrinkable.
I work in Westerville, OH right down the street from Cheryl's Cookies. QVC generally has better pricing than I can get at Cheryls. That being said, I don't generally buy food from QVC to replace something I'd get at the grocery store. It usually replaces take out food.
Our favorites are Corky's wings and pulled pork, pot stickers, Jimmy's cinnamon rolls, and Bantam bagels. The wings seem expensive compared to buying raw wings at Costco. Like I'm going to fool around with that mess. Corky's wings go right in the air fryer and are yum in 15 minutes. When compared with an equal quantity of wings from our favorite sports bar, they are really a competitive price.
Yes, I used to live in Memphis and love that I can order Corky's.

An interpretation I will not subscribe to is that smaller quantities would necessarily be more expensive than larger quantities. Less packing materials, less product, less weight, less shipping, etc.., should equal a smaller price.
One of the best supermarkets here on the east coast (N.Y. based) sells a number of the food products also sold at QVC but in smaller quantities and, obviously, cheaper prices. The offerings are a great way to essentially sample an item rather than going head first with a larger price and more quantity.

@ULY, you are so right. I live in NY as well and found Davio's Cheese Steak Spring Rolls in my local grocery store. Six in a box for $5.99, Q's price was $45.00 for a count of 30, that's a substantial price difference.

Another interesting topic! I just purchased a frozen food item that either was, or is sold on QVC. They are called Bantam Bagels ... little cream cheese stuffed bagels. I like stuff like that, and these were quite good.
I noticed on the box they were a "as seen on Shark Tank" item, so off to You Tube to watch the episode. The company owners mentioned their profit when selling via QVC and most of the "Sharks" cringed ... evidentelly QVC does drive a hard bargain with their vendors. The exposure is worth it ... It was an interesting episode ...
Also - shipping, and handling is totally added to the price.
