Why So Many Orange Popsicles?

In the summer I've always enjoyed popsicles.   No matter what brand I buy - Popsicles, Outshine, etc. in the variety box there are always more orange flavored popsicles than any other flavor.

A few years ago Popsicle brand had a "Special Edition" box that was all berry flavors - I really enjoyed those.

I guess you can tell that orange is my least favorite flavor and I'm just curious - do I have just bad luck and get boxes that are filled majority with orange or have you noticed that too?

I'm wondering if perhaps the orange ones are cheaper in cost so they put more of those in the box???

I don't buy Popsicles so I don't have an answer for you.  I recommend contacting the companies you mentioned and complain to them.

Contact info is usually on the package.  Send an email, they may send you a coupon for a free item as a consolation gift.

I never buy variety packs, my favorites are Outshine Watermelon & Twin Pops Banana....so good on a humid hot day.

Per Google, if natural fruit is used for flavoring, orange is cheaper than berry or mango or cherry. And oranges yield a larger amount of juice per fruit. I had a feeling it is all about money, and yes, Google seems to confirm that.

I don't buy popsicles but Orange followed by Grape were always my favorite.  Now you've got me craving an orange popsicle...LOL!

@BunSnoop  Funny you should mention orange popcycles.  Paramour dropped these off around noon today.......

Orange is my least favorite.  But I have not noticed on the count.  But......popsicles are not as flavorful as when we were kids.  Plus they were twin pops always!  I remember the box of 24 twin pops were .99!

@BunSnoop - my DH says the same thing about too many orange popsicles in the variety box. It's not his favorite flavor and he does buy different brands, so I guess it is common. I rarely eat them, but whenever I grab one from the box, I always get a cherry or berry flavor and I laugh.

Yum, orange creamsicles!!!

Starbucks just came out with a seasonal item. Orange Cream Blended Frappuccino. I tried it (no whip, non-fat milk) and it was good. Tastes just like an orange creamsicle. It was a nice treat.

Your post brings back good memories. I never liked the grape ones. Orange were okay, but cherry were the best.
