Re: Whats cooking this december?

I actually cooked or should I say tried to ... chicken and yellow rice.  My DM was a fantastic cook, and I remember this from days gone by.  The chicken turned out great, but somehow the rice did not want to cook thoroughly in my dutch oven.  I kept adding small amounts of chicken stock and continued cooking but never got the consistency that I wanted.  DH loved it which is so sweet of him to say.  Anyway........

Re: Whats cooking this december?

Today is my birthday!  Usually BFF, her husband, my DH and I go out for dinner the weekend of my birthday but instead BFF and her husband came over to watch the Eagles/Steelers game.  DH made my favorite football watching treat- seven layer dip and BFF brought over spinach dip and sausage dip.

This morning DH, DD and I are going to a local coffee shop.  They just started serving all day brunch everyday in the beginning of November.  I plan to have lemon curd, blueberry pancakes.

This afternoon I am having a facial.

@ninjawife ~ Happy Birthday!  🎉🎂🎈🥳
It sounds like a perfect way to celebrate.  Enjoy your facial! 😊

I'm going to get my wrapping done today.  This afternoon, we'll run up t9 the UPS Store.  I ordered a pair of Koolaburra by Ugg ankle boots and I can't even get my foot to slip into them.  It takes a lot of effort and it shouldn't be that difficult.  They're going back.  I might try a different style, but they won't be here when I'd hoped so I may just forget them altogether.  It's not like I don't have other options here already.

Lunch today ~
Grassfed NY Strip that we'll share

Sauteed Fresh Mushrooms

Small Tossed Salad
Roasted Cauliflower

@JeanLouiseFinch :  It took me 3 weeks to find Uggs tazz (size 5) for DIL.........hard to find them this year.  Hopefully they will be here by Christmas.

Re: Whats cooking this december?

Using up pot roast, shredded on crusty rolls with bbq sauce. Roasted green beans, chips and cranberry sauce. Some how we have some chocolate chip cookie bars left for dessert! May dress them up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Have a nice evening.

This December, I'll be cooking turkey stuffed bell peppers, pasta salad, pumpkin pie, peach cobbler, shrimp mac and cheese, and my famous black beans and rice for a truly delicious feast.

Re: Whats cooking this december?

Good morning all!

I wrapped and wrapped yesterday. Most of it is done.  I always give our adult kids a box of random household stuff.  Those boxes are still waiting to be wrapped because I'm waiting for something to be delivered.  Delivery is iffy.  There's a chance it will happen as soon as the 23rd, but it could be after Christmas.  I just received a shipping notice but tracking hasn't updated yet.  My fingers are crossed. 🤞

Today I have my usual monthly massage.  Normally my guy says to go home, drink some water, and relax. Well I can't do that today.  When I get home, I'll pull lunch together, and then DH and I have to leave for hair appointments - a cut for him, and color, a trim, and brow waxing for for me.

Lunch today -

Pulled pork w/SF Barbecue Sauce

Steamed Broccoli

Small Tossed Salad

Re: Whats cooking this december?

I sliced up a three pound bag of golden potatoes with my new GZ mandolin and made a mess of roasted scalloped potatoes with Cajun seasoning.

Making another batch of avocado pudding tonight and definitely have a bread recipe on the horizon as well.

Happy Tuesday!
