Re: Whats cooking in september?

Today DH & I will be having leftover brisket from Labor Day weekend. I'll scramble some eggs in bacon fat to go with it.

I had portioned out 8 servings and individually wrapped and put them in the freezer that day (after we ate). After today, we'll each have 3 more meals from the smoked brisket. I'll spread them out over the next month or so.  Smiley Happy

Re: Whats cooking in september?

Good evening everyone. Nice day out just slightly muggy. Was on and off the phone with local appliance place and after a few washers I went with speed queen tr5. 5 year Warranty, no lid lock and after doing 2 loads I'm already really liking it. Its not as big as our last washer but being its a speed queen I'm fine with the smaller tub .I will gladly trad tub size for dependability. I wrote about the whole buying washer experience on the home thread more detailed. Had pumpkin muffin from Dublin donuts ria got yestauday and had leftovers from yesterday and I made mac and cheese with broccoli and chicken and fruit. Have a great day every one.

Re: Whats cooking in september?

Good morning all.

DH and I enjoyed seeing our singing friends last night.  We bumped into another friend there and it turned out the venue was her home church.  Small world.

I had my first pumpkin coffee of the season this morning - Bones Pumpkin Pecan Praline.  ☕️ 🎃 😋

I'll be back to see the dentist again this morning.  I just got off the phone with the receptionist. I'm having lots of sensitivity and pain where I had the crown done last week. There's throbbing pain and I can't touch it with my tongue or finger.  The pain seems to be traveling some too.  I took some Tylenol twice last night and that's really unlike me.  Oddly, the bite feels fine. I think I may have an infection.

Right now, lunch is a toss up.

Baby back ribs, coleslaw and asparagus.  I have fresh peaches for later.  A warm week here 85-86 all week through next Tuesday, and no rain in sight.

@RedTop   Thanks for the information!

Made this tonight and I'm still full!  Sooooo good!

I've made this on the stovetop but never put it in the oven for the extra time!  Improves flavor!  Delicious!

Re: Whats cooking in september?

Well, the dental appointment didn't go as planned.  The dentist believes I need a bite adjustment.  They numbed me up but I could still feel everything when the drill hit the tooth even though everything around it was numb.  They even gave me a little extra and it didn't make a difference.  Plan B was to get started on a medrol dose pack and antibiotic, then return Thursday morning for the adjustment.  I stuck with soft foods after the medication wore off.  I'll be doing the same thing today.

I saw the urology NP for my annual appointment yesterday.  She said everything is great and she gave me to OK to add a supplement I am interested in pursuing.

I have to take the cats in for their annual checkup and shots this morning.  I should have done it already but things kept coming up and it would get pushed to a later date on the calendar.  I also have a UPS store drop off to do on the way home.

@Zhills

I am glad you liked the baked steak!

I follow the same procedure with chicken, pork cube steak, pork shoulder steaks, pork chops, and round steak, different sauces or gravies and adjust time and temperature.
