Re: Whats cooking in september?

On Monday DH planned for us to have fajita bowls with rice and beans but I had my fajita on a tortilla.  Tuesday we had chicken, leftover mashed potatoes from Sunday's Swedish meatballs, gravy and broccoli.  Last night DD and I had our usual Wednesday night dinner of pasta, olive oil, garlic, sundried tomatoes, basil and goat cheese.  DH ate at his blues jam.  We still have a pork tenderloin and hamburgers in the freezer to have as meals for the rest of the week.

Re: Whats cooking in september?

I don’t know what I was thinking yesterday.   I was certain both cats needed annual exams and shots.  So DH and I got them in their carriers, loaded and strapped in the back seat and I went off to the vet.  When I checked then in I was told that only one of them needed shots.  The other one doesn’t need anything until June of ‘26.  So it turns out she just came along for moral support.😁  Next summer I can finagle things and get them on the same schedule.

I was at the dentist’s office at 8:00AM to finally get this stupid crown adjusted.  It’s much better now.  No visit from our DS and grandkids today.  Our granddaughter has a dental appointment of her own this afternoon.  Sadly, she’s getting an extraction.  She’s had some real dental issues for a 4 yr. old.  Fortunately it’s all temporary.

I thawed some boneless skinless chicken breasts to grill and will serve them over cauliflower rice and top with cheese, bacon, and green onions.  I’m roasting some Brussels sprouts too.

Re: Whats cooking in september?

It's National cheeseburger day, so that's what we are having tonight.  A side of grilled zucchini and squash.  Maybe ice cream or strawberries later.  (Or strawberries ON ice cream!). Yum.

Re: Whats cooking in september?

  • Good evening everyone.   Nice day out and slightly muggy.Nothing for breakfast, had eggplant and zucchini I made yestauday for lunch and some now for a snack because I felt having food and for dinner we had leftovers and fruit. So far I have done 4 loads of laundry in our new speed queen washer and I love it. Cleans really well and it takes 40 minutes unlike our last washer that took an hour and 15 minutes and new washer fills all the way up. Its so like old school washers that we use to have. Expensive but well worth it. Have a great night everyone.

Re: Whats cooking in september?

Good morning.  I finally got my crown adjusted the right way.  It's still a little tender but doing much better.

DGD had her extraction and did a great job.  They gave her laughing gas so she wouldn't feel it and didn't really complain of any local pain afterwards.

I'm finishing some straightening up of the house this morning, mopping the kitchen floor and running the vacuum.  We have a friend coming here this afternoon and we're traveling to a dinner concert together.  When we get back, it'll be late so I invited her to stay overnight rather than driving the rest of the way home alone.  It's the same friend that traveled to Tennessee with us.  I don't know what's on the dinner menu but we'll manage our best.
